Knicks · Luke Walton signed with a new agent TODAY (page 2)

That's fair. Golden State runs a lot of Triangle stuff within their system, but also a lot of other stuff. It'd be good if he were allowed to work that in.

I don't think Phil would be able to argue that GSW doesn't move the ball enough.

Yeah I think you called it. Phil seemed genuinely distraught about having to let Fisher go. I don't think he is thinking at all about LA.

I want Walton, but he might pull a Kerr on us and go to LA. But Shaw on the other hand will come to the Knicks, I wouldn't mind shaw if Phil stays in NY, but that may not be the case

Shaw would be an absolute disaster.

You haven't learned not to listen to SAS yet?? He just says stuff to get rumors going. I can't see Phil leaving this team the way it is right now and with him being the reason this team is still a mess right now. I can maybe see him leaving in two years if the team is more established.

I don't see any credible sauces confirming Jim Buss has been fired. That would be classic if he made this ish up

There has been a lot of talk of Jeanie cleaning house over there though. I've been hearing stuff for a while now but never thought it would happen.

Sometimes you have to lead the blind I guess. Here's a hint for you, when someone starts with 'here's a good one', they generally follow with a joke. In any case, thanks for stating the obvious

Reason? And please don't cite his stint in Denver

I would ask Fisher to come back before i'd go with Shaw....so i might be lying a little but you get the point. No no no to Shaw.

That makes me like Shaw every more. Make him too assistant to ASAP as in tomorrow morning

gunsnewing @ 2/8/2016 8:57 PM
I can see it already. Fisher is gone now every thread if going to be about firing Shaw. He's not even here yet
wargames @ 2/8/2016 10:58 PM
I would hope Walton comes here and brings some sort of modern hybrid of the triangle with him.

That'd be my hope. That he could convince Phil to modernize the Triangle.

He will be highly sought after this year though. 24-0 to start the season won't be soon forgotten. Even if he didn't get credit for the wins.

Frank Isola running with the same story SAS had - Phil wants to hire Walton... though maybe in LA. Apparently Phil has an opt out clause this summer??

Wow - this would be kinda shocking but also kinda not... time will tell, I guess! Maybe Phil leaves and we get Thibs this summer after all?

For several weeks now, the buzz among NBA executives and coaches is that Luke Walton may very well be Phil Jackson’s next disciple turned head coach. Sure, why not? Walton has a history with Jackson and can run his – cue the angels singing – triangle offense.

This reunion could happen. Maybe in New York but don’t ever rule out Los Angeles. As in the Lakers.

Jackson has an opt-out clause in his contract this summer that could make him a free agent and available to return to what he really loves; the Lakers, his beach house and Jeanie Buss. Not necessarily in that order, of course.

The theory that Jackson is ready to make the move west picked up steam on Monday when he announced that the first head coach he ever hired, Derek Fisher, would be the first head coach he’d fire. If you believe that James Dolan stayed completely out of this, which may very well be the case, then Jackson did something he rarely ever does.

He admitted to failing.

I'm going to judge Rambis on the job he does here... not his head? I find that sort of strange. But you do you!

Holy Shit, Phil having an opt out clause is a game changer. I believe the stories that Jeannie Buss might make a change have some validity. Lakers just set some kind of franchise record for losing that might be enough of a reason for her to justify firing (with the rest of the family) or forcing the resignation of her brother.

Phil could say that he got us our franchise player in Porzingis, just like his teammate Dave Debuscherre did with Ewing. I dont know what he will do, but I wouldn't be surprised if Phil left. If he does leave I sure hope Gaines is the heir apparent to make the day to day decisions and Mills is promoted, since I doubt he will ever lose his job again. Could be a scary time for this franchise if it does happen. I have had my reservations about how Phil approaches the job, but as far as the roster, I have been on board with most of his decisions. Will be a very interesting summer, thats for sure!

You know what - if Phil left and hired Walton in LA...

if that meant we could get Thibs? I would do it.

Give me Conley and Thibs and maybe Noah and I will drive Phil to the airport.
