Id be all for that. He hasnt done a bad job, got rid of some unreliable characters, brought in some contributors and hasnt burdened us financially but I dont see how he establishes a strong base even if he stays the duration. Team has all the appearances of being a .500 team for years unless we import two fa stars. Besides KP where is the allure of our roster or the triangle O to attrac a talent like Westbrook to join?. Team has decisions coming up with Affalo and Williams besides Melo. Rather go forward at this point with a gm like Colangelo and a established coach like Thibs . . I suspect/hope that Phil holding off on a coaching search and letting Rambis coach out the year may be a signal that Phil is prepping to sail off to LA . Id be fine with that
Y'all are making too much into things

So you're ready for Dolan to take over again then?? You're ready for Isaiah Thomas to be back with our Knicks then?? I'm not. I'd rather give Phil two more years to get this team to being respectable which is still not far away from being done.
I'd love Phil out. Hire Thibs to coach. Hire JVG as president and GM.
The Triangle and its hippy dippy dude can go out to CA and hire Luke Walton.
Let's bring the real Knicks back to the Knicks - JVG as GM/Pres, Thibs as Coach.

+1
I love JVG and would welcome him back. Thibs would be great too as long as he and the FO are in sync (which I just can't see with Phil).
But if Phil bolts, the one guy(not named Isiah) Dolan has trusted and allowed himself to take a step back from the reigns, then what does that do for Dolan's recent hands off approach? He just fired the coach he sold Dolan on and promised 25 million Jimmy bucks, now he jumps ship?
I don't see anything good happening from Phil leaving so soon. Time to refocus on the team we were high on 10 games ago.
