Not sure why anyone would think that if AA opts out he would demand more, lots of posts about that. No way, especially at his age and limited abilities.
He is a filler for the Knicks for sure, and I'd be OK with him off the bench, but that's it.

Very fair point - he could've still been pissed about that.
They replayed that play on Inside the NBA with Ernie, Kevin McHale, Chuck, and Shaq. Obviously they're not always right, but their initial reaction was "what the hell?" McHale actually said - "They reversed THAT??"
It was a bang bang play - the guy's feet were outside the restricted area, but it seemed like he moved in late and was still sliding towards Afflalo's path to the basket when they collided. It's a call Lebron would've gotten no question if he were on offense. During a long losing streak it just feels like torture, but the call seemed 50/50 and I have never seen them review a judgment call like that. Out of bounds call? Sure. Judgment call foul? Has to be the ref's initial reaction IMHO.
Feels like we've been on the losing end of lots of replay calls this season. KP's three in Charlotte (totally legit, except the time keeper may have initially not given them enough time). The Sacramento play where Rondo was clearly fouling Melo on his last shot. Etc.
Not to mention there were a bunch of other games where the refs admitted they got multiple foul calls wrong against the Knicks in the final two minutes - I remember the game Melo was out against Houston in the Garden, refs admitted they got SEVEN CALLS wrong against the Knicks in the final two minutes.
Just starts to feel like a snakebitten season at a certain point.

I agree...
This is also a reminder that we have a team full of solid backup players.....around Melo and KP. I never thought of AA as a starter. So when he has up and down games, it's really no surprise to me. Same with Gallo and the older version of Calderon. All these guys are really meeting expectations. We needed these guys to exceed expectations in order to make some playoff noise. AA has been a 6th man type his entire career.....I thought he would be a nice NBA starter for us, but he still seems like he's a better 6th man type.....But for the price, he was the best option at SG.
But I agree that he was upset about other things, right before that play. Gallo's turnover was bad, and I'm sure AA was saying, yall should've gave me the ball instead of forcing it to Melo. Then when Calderon made that pass to Gallo, you have to understand AA must be going crazy by now watching all this stuff unfold, following the charge call....

Why? I thought there was a defender very close to AA at that point. Gallo was just open.

I'd guess that the $19M is going toward wing players. I hope both DWill and AA opt out and the Knicks use the bigger pool on those types of players.

I see Afflalo as a very good 6th man if he stays here long term. Having that player off the bench that can score in iso situations and finish games when necessary, and replace Melo in the lineup when hurt, is very valuable.

I'd like to see if we can't do a better job with DWill - he has shown talent and the ability to impact the game. Spotty & he is clearly lost a lot out there at times, especially on D.
Second, watching where AA and Gallo are at the moment of the pass, AA is several yards further away from Jose, so there is a good chance he would not have been able to put it up in time. So as I said, too stiff to change his ways. Maybe the payroll order is all he sees.
AA is a waste of time, no contender material. DWills minutes, maybe.

He was said to be a good defensive player when we got him so i don't know what happened to him like if he just isn't giving the energy needed or if he never really was that good on defense?? It's not like he's some horrible player cause he's not but i think we were all just expecting more from him. I still think he can be a valuable player if we had more players that were being relied upon to score but i think maybe he feels like everyone is just expecting him to be our #2 scorer which he is so he's trying too hard to be that guy which takes him away from doing the other parts that are also needed.
