That's too much for Collinson

Collison is signed next year for 5mm. That guarantees us a good player and we can put funds elsewhere. Who is the best player in the deal?

Value player? I still got with Grant because of his pedigree, youth and potential.
Lance has been up and down but a strong contributor and plays D. COLLISON is solid but not a bona fide answer to about at least a dozen better guards. He's an improvement but NY needs a bona fide Star. I want Rose
Contrary to what us Knick fans believe, you don't need a top tier PG to eventually win a championship. I am assuming your eventual goal is to build a team that can win one. Don't let Golden State seduce you. We can settle for a SOLID player at that position. He doesn't need to be a star. Just as long as we get another starting SG who is also very solid. Aaron Afflalo is really nice but on a championship team, he is best served coming off the bench. A very good PG and SG with a healthier Melo, improved KP and Lopez, next season, should do wonders.
I would pull the trigger on Briggs's trade.
Oh come on BRIGGS, you always say we should trade for late 1st round picks, then you seem to want to trade the players we draft after less than a season.
Furthermore Lance has no trade value because he loses his early bird rights as soon as he is traded- any team acquiring him could only re-sign him with cap space or the MLE

You have to give to get. It makes a lot of sense for the Knicks. We'd get a very solid pro pg in his prime who is under contract next year for 5 mm he immediately upgrades both out defense and offense and allows us to seek a maximum level player (derozan or batum) it gives the kings a player in lance thomas who would really help them today and going 4 ward and picks 19 and 34 from the previous 2 drafts

I have zero problem with Collinson but that is way too much for a back up pg. Yes, I know he could start for the Knicks and I have also made trade ideas about him but you are giving up a former 1st, Lance, and filler. Another thing is Lance would have to agree to the trade and he may not want to give up his bird rights. Also, lance may not be as valuable to a team out of the playoffs like Sac so you are undercutting his possible value.

Back up PG?If he was given the true start 35-38 minute playing time--hed have low level all star numbers with good defense and high efficiency. Hes a steal for what hes being paid. How is he not better than Mike Conley--explain it to me? And hes UNDER contract for FIVE million next year.

for a guy who's always talks about draft picks, im baffled as to why you would trade all of your young assets for a avg player

Im not trading draft picks--iM trading players. At best Jerian Grant would be what Collison is now and hes going to be years from that if ever. The guys under contract for 5mm that allows us to TRY and get a Derozan.

I agree about Lance but there is one thing that may over ride what you and I mentioned, lance might have put prices league avg money so having his bird rights won't matter. However for the Knicks they have to decide if they can get someone better to feel his role or now they can convince him to sign a 2 yr deal with option with a "wink" that they will pay him in 2017 once he gets his bird rights.

Too much?!?!
Grant and Early don't even play! Our biggest weakness is the backcourt and this improves the Knicks while giving up virtually nothing. Grant may or may not be a valuable player but how long are willing to wait? I get it, he's a rookie but dude can't even hit a jumper. This offense just doesn't play into his strength and unless the Knicks are going to change that, he is of no use to use
Pull the trigger Briggs! lol
Seroiusly? He's not what this team needs ( a Jerian Grant with a handle and J)

Id try aggressively right now to get Collison
Hes cheap and hes signed next year
That allows me to go full boat with full max contract with Derozan(try to sell him on being a start in NYC) and if not Batum
Throw back 2017 draft pick to 2016 IF we can get Valentine and buy a 2nd to get Felder(if its possible)
That could be Derozan/Batum Collison MLE Boban M Draft Valentine Felder---we'd be a contending team.

Collision is one of the better shooters from the PG position in the NBA? The guy is a complete and utter steal at 5mm.

collinson is a great fit I just think the price is too high. Look at what his value has been in the past when he had similar numbers. Also, look at what other back up veteran guards value has been in trades.
I like Collison but not sure what the Kings are getting out of this deal?
Collison is their insurance for next season if Rondo leaves for a big contract somewhere else.
Kings are a mess and I don't think they have three roster spots open to absorb all these guys - none of whom would even play for them.
