In essence:
Knicks get Derrick Rose, Terrence Ross, Nikola Mirotic, Bobby Portis and Sacramento's 2016 (top 10 protected) pick from CHI.
Bulls get Blake Griffin, Kevin Seraphin and Jose Calderon
Clippersget Carmelo Anthony, Kyle O'Quinn and Taj Gibson
Raptors gets Lance Stephenson's expirer as well as CJ Wilcox (and a promise from the Knicks that they'd tank the season and increase the value of their 2016 pick for Toronto)
Clippers do the deal because they improve their depth and floor spacing abilities at the forward position. Melo is also a far superior shot creator to Griffin, which means a lot come the playoffs.
The Bulls do the deal because it affords them the opportunity to consolidate their value at the forward positions into a franchise caliber PF, in a relatively young Blake Griffin while moving Derrick Rose's albatross of a contract. Just imagine how seemlessly Griffin would fit next to Pau and Jimmy Butler (and their remaining role players).
Toronto does the deal because they can get tremendous value for a surefire lottery pick courtesy of us moving Melo/tanking, while jettisoning Terrence Ross' contract
We do the deal because it allows us an opportunity to bring in intriguing young talents in Bobby Portis, Terrence Ross and Nikola Mirotic, while furthering our rebuilding efforts with a quality 1st round pick from Sacramento.

...I'd then look to begin the process of offloading the veterans on the roster for better position in the upcoming draft. The opportunity to select in the top 6, should be paramount. Like I've said multiple times, the Pelicans probably are the biggest suckers on the block and would look to move Robin Lopez and Aaron Afflalo to them for Eric Gordon's expirer, Alexis Ajinca and a right to pick swap Sacramento's pick. The calamity caused from inserting 3 new starters into the lineup, plus Anthony Davis' iffy health, should still allow the Pelicans to finish with one of the 6 worst records in the league....which is good enough for me to have moved Melo.

Top-6 2016 1st round pick
Rights to Guillermo "Willie" Hernangomez
Portis first year projected stats over 36 min 15.6 and 9.9. He starts over Mirotec. Count me in. Got to examine T ROSS
I don't think that D Williams is ready to Start. I like him off the bench. Also, T ROSS over 36 doesn't impress me nor so his assist or bounding stats. He's an upgrade and i like his height but unless he's a defensive specialist count me out. We still will have Beaucoup bucks to spend on a
Beal or Nicolas Batum and I'd prefer either over ROSS.

Who starts at 3 then? Lance Thomas?
Also, Ross has been marginalized since being drafted by the Raptors, so I'm not surprised by his underwhelming numbers. In a way, he reminds me of Derrick Williams in that respect. Given his immense physical gifts and skills he has come into the league with, I have to believe he'd be capable of more. And on a team like this one would be, Ross would have ample opportunities to prove himself. The downside of the gamble is steep, given the fact that he's under contract for 4 years but it is a risk I'd take. There aren't many talented SG's in this league and we'd have time to see if we can develop whatever talent he may have.

With a team that young, I'd officially pass on Nic Batum but Bradley Beal is intriguing. He's a good egg by all accounts and supremely talented. I doubt Washington lets him walk even if we offer him the max though.

Because Portis is more productive and because Mirotic is a better floor spacer, I made Portis my 6th and Mirotic my starter.
Great, so we dismantle and tank to get a low 1st round draft pick just to get rid of Melo.
Great plan... for the other teams. Why don't you add the Nyets in? Maybe they could give us Joe Johnson straight up for Porzingus?
I suppose you spend the rest of this season and next watching the Clippers or the Bulls?

Didn't Beal say a couple weeks back he'll likely be on a minutes restriction his entire career due to some longterm injury issues? That makes me too nervous. He's still very young!
I am extremely loyal I guess, but since Melo has started playing ball..I want to keep him with KP. We just need some guard help.

I didn't hear that but that'd make me run for the hills. He's also kind of just a scorer, which makes me wonder if it's all he is capable of or it's something by design, playing next to Wall.

Have you actually seen any of the aforementioned players play?
...to be honest, I'd just take the Bulls' pick this year instead of SAC's. With Griffin set to miss 4-6 weeks, Noah out the season and Pau bound to miss time as well, I could see them finishing with the 15th-19th pick, which is good enough for me along with Mirotic and Portis. I still think it could even be intriguing enough for the Pelicans to still feel comfortable with gambling (foolishly) for a pick swap to secure Lopez and Afflalo from us.
