Knicks · EASTERN CONFERENCE Playoff push (page 1)

Is not looking as strong as it was a in december, the fact that we lost 10 out of 11 and only 5.5 games out of the 6th seed is damn near a miracle..

maybe 38 wins will cut it..

I just think it is so important to make the playoffs if we want to attract FA, and help our young boys get some experience

franco12 @ 2/11/2016 10:10 AM
we need to win games and stop looking so bad when we lose. That is all I want.

yep. start playing better. start finishing (and starting) games better. get some wins and see where we are at the end of march. there's a chance to make the playoffs, because every team in the East has some flaw or another.

maybe Atlanta blows it all up at the trade deadline? maybe they get a lot better? who knows. just start playing better and make this look like an attractive place to play again.

i think another possible outcome is that Rambis falls on his face badly and Phil gets a lot of pressure to bring in an established coach like Thibs. I almost hope for that outcome. We need a real leader on the sidelines.

Yeah im kind of split, part of me wants him to do well, so phil doesnt look like a idiot, and part of him wants him to do bad, so we're force to a more establish coach.

But it's much more to our advantage if he does well, then guys stock will rise and become tradable, or we look more attractive

Agree. I'm not going to root against the team. I'll root for Rambis to do well and hope we make the playoffs.

I'm just saying if it all continues to implode, there could be a positive outcome from that as well.

I'm all in on this team pushing to make the playoffs. The team needed this break and hopefully they can get in some practice and really tighten up the defense. They obviously really need to improve the PG spot but this is not going to be easy. The best thing they can do is get Jerian's head right so he can be a productive part of the rotation and limit Jose's and Sasha's minutes. We still have that open roster spot to bring in another young and athletic guard. So IMO there's still some hope for a strong finish.

Need to win 19 of our remaining 27, which will be to play like a top 5 team in the league.
Sorry, not expecting that, but they should still be focused on trying their best to get there.

It all depends on what Phil can get done next week. If he can get some help it may just make all the difference. We practically play 4 on 5 when Jose or AA aren't on their game. Not having another option at guard has been the source of our demise IMO. Nearly every PG we've faced has stuck the dagger in late in games against us. Ish Smith, Isaiah Thomas, Kemba Walker, Reggie Jackson, John Wall ... they all killed us.

When Phil was first hired, Woodson won 18 of the last 24 games to almost make the playoffs once the team was finally healthy. And Phil fired him. 18-6 in those last 24. Derek Fisher won 17 games the next full season.

Anyway, yeah, I see us playing a little better, but not making the playoffs.

Wish this move was made 10 games ago if it was going to happen, would have given Rambis a better shot of making the playoffs. Might not be enough of a sample size to determine if Rambis is up for the job. A slightly better record isnt going to move the needle enough for me to want to see Rambis back if someone like Thibs is available. Im guessing that Thibs is waiting to see what the Knicks do before deciding on any offers.

phil was hired much later. He wasnt here when woodson went 18—6. He wasnt here when woodson won 54
