It's a fantastic idea but Melo had aid he ain't going anywhere. That could change. Alot can happen with the all star break here. Lots of free time to discuss
I would do it.
No way we'd get both Teague or Schroeder - it'd have to be one or the other, probably Teague.
Would be good for the Knicks, instant backcourt.

Yeah, I would bet money that Melo and CP3 sit down and discuss something this weekend.
I think there's a reason trade deadline is always right after the all-star game! Lots of chance for execs and players to talk face to face and make plans.

I hate it. What's the point of the deal? All it does is commit to a middle-of-the-road strategy, which leads to no where. We need young players that can become better or a star. This trade accomplishes neither.
Unload melos contract and upgrade at PG.....plus cap space for two max players? Or 3 top free agents worth the max of 2 players?

Melo would go to LA....especially with cp3 there!
I rather just get Blake for Melo
yes i read that / as one of those two gus, probably teague
very intriguing. Makes sense for Clips as it adds some of melo's dynamic and they lose some of the overlapping power game between blake and jordan; makes sense for atlanta as they get beal and give up only one pg
makes sense for Melo if he priortizes championship run over NYC
knicks essentially betting on the promise of porter (i.e., melo vs teague not fair)and getting more flexibility. I don't know when Nene gets off the books but suspect it frees things up for a run at a top FA
Would take some serious nads to pull the trigger and careful thought.

not sure i agree. it provides quality players in teague and porter. And i suspect gives us the flexibility to pursue a top FA

have no idea if the numbers would work but this would be even better if we got Beal and Atlanta got Porter

The only change I would make is that I'd ask for Kelly Oubre over Otto Porter.
sorry for the multiple replies. the only thing that seems off with this deal is Melo and Pierce being on the same team. Not as bad as Melo and KG but close
PORTER? are you kidding me? this guy was a scrub as of last season. Washington is not killing it with porter. No way. No. Essentially washington is getting Blake for Beal and Porter? Doesn't add up.

I think CP3 would make sure Pierce didn't come back after this season. You think he'd rather play with Pierce or Melo at this point? That's not gonna be an impediment.

Curious why? It looked like Porter was finally piecing things together.

wasn't he playing behind Pierce, though? I dunno. I don't follow the Wizards. It looked like he was getting his game together. I've seen very little of Oubre but he looked good.
You could also make the argument that Porter isn't killing it because the Wizard guards take all of the shots
Knicks get Porter???, Teague/Schroeder??? & cap room???
I thought we already had some cap room.
Great, we get a legit shooting PG with one guy to pass to (KP). And we end up without even BrokenBlake.
Another fabulous lets get rid of our best player idea.
