for the past couple of weeks, ive seen trade ideas that would make my head explode. I'm not sure if folks are creating these proposals because they actually think its a good idea, they just want to participate in the forum or theyre not sure of the rules. In my opinion, i dont think this team is able to make trades - Phil said it himself lol. They simply dont have many assets. If they are able to then they should be SELLERS not BUYERS (the knicks are a mediocre team at best and any deadline trade wont improve them dramatically - sorry to be REAL). However, i understand that there are diehard knicks fans here who are always looking to improve the team.
As a solution, i saw this clever, funny yet REALISTIC trade quiz. It basically tells you if your trade is realistic:
Rule #1 - dont even think about it if it involves more than six players
Rule #2 - dont even think about it if theyre playing in the all star game
Rule #3 - dont even think about it if your team CLEARLY benefits
Rule #4 - dont even think about it if your relying on the other team being DUMB
Rule #5 - dont even think about it if it involves trading an expiring contract
Rule #6 - dont even think about it if you dont include a player who could come back to BITE you

in a nutshell, its very difficult to make significant trades in the NBA. especially with the increase in cap coming next yr
Rule #7- Don't get all pissed off when little or nothing happens. Yes, Trades are easy to write about.
Rule #8- Don't confuse Change for improvement. In fact, sometimes trades take you backwards!!!!!
