Yeah. I posted some of it in another thread. If I knew someone at MSG I would be texting him right now to confirm for my buddies at U K.

Isola is FOS
martin @ 2/12/2016 10:05 PM
Man I hate Isola's articles but this is certainly interesting.

It's almost plausible.

Why is Melo even talking the way he is? He is killing any leverage any would have.

Boy every time I start thinking maybe he can be a winner he ruins it.

Leverage? We have him under contract for this season and then three more after it. Not to mention he has a no trade and would need to be consulted on any deal.

I wonder if one of the picks is this year's Brooklyn pick? It'd be nice to get this year's Brooklyn pick.

Would have to at least start with that. Moz, Brooklyn's pick, DLee... What else?

What does Boston get out of this besides Love? Or is that enough for them?

Love is that big free agent they weren't able to get... he'd be their star. Boston would be able to hide his lack of defense and get him the ball in his spots again.

It's interesting. My impression is that Boston has tons of picks - though I don't know which picks those are.

If Boston got Love and Cleveland got Melo, it could very well be CLE vs BOS in the eastern conference finals...

This is the ungodly amount of picks the Celtics have coming their way:

2016 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Brooklyn's 2016 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]

2016 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' 1st round pick to Boston protected for 1-7 in 2016, 1-7 in 2017, 1-7 in 2018, 1-7 in 2019 and 1-7 in 2020 and unprotected in 2021 [Boston-Dallas, 12/18/2014]

2016 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 2016 1st round pick to Boston (via Phoenix) protected for selections 1-12; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Boston [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012; Boston-Phoenix, 1/9/2015]

2016 second round draft pick from Cleveland
Cleveland's 2016 2nd round pick to Boston [Boston-Cleveland, 9/25/2014]

2016 second round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas will convey the more favorable of its 2016 2nd round pick and Memphis' 2016 2nd round pick to Boston (via Denver to Dallas then removal of protection from Memphis) [Denver-Memphis, 8/7/2009; Dallas-Denver, 12/13/2011; Dallas-Memphis, 7/22/2013; Boston-Dallas, 12/18/2014]

2016 second round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 2016 2nd round pick to Boston [Boston-Golden State-Miami, 1/15/2014]

Philadelphia's 2016 2nd round pick to Boston (via Miami) [Miami-Philadelphia, 6/28/2012; Boston-Golden State-Miami, 1/15/2014]

2017 first round draft pick from Brooklyn
Boston has the right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2017 1st round pick; if Boston exercises this swap right, then Boston will convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-45 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Boston's obligation to Brooklyn will be extinguished) [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]; this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2017 second round draft pick from Boston" on Brooklyn Credits

2017 second round draft pick from Cleveland
Cleveland's 2017 2nd round pick to Boston [Boston-Cleveland, 9/25/2014]

2017 second round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers' 2017 2nd round pick to Boston [Boston-L.A. Clippers-Phoenix, 1/15/2015]

2018 first round draft pick from Memphis
Memphis' 1st round pick to Boston protected for selections 1-12 in 2018 (conveyable if Memphis conveys a 1st round pick to Denver in 2016), 1-8 in 2019 (conveyable if Memphis has conveyed a 1st round pick to Denver by 2017) and 1-6 in 2020 (conveyable if Memphis has conveyed a 1st round pick to Denver by 2018) and unprotected in 2021 [Boston-Memphis-New Orleans, 1/12/2015]

Detroit's 2019 2nd round pick to Boston (via Oklahoma City) [Detroit-Oklahoma City-Utah, 2/19/2015; Boston-Oklahoma City, 7/14/2015]

2020 second round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 2020 2nd round pick to Boston [Boston-Miami, 7/27/2015]

Isola wasn't he the guy that said Melo is staying in 2014 like a week before he actually did?
SkyWalker @ 2/12/2016 10:46 PM
I would jump on that deal. Melo might agree to play with lebron and kyrie. He would never have a better chance to win and he loves Lebron. Curious what the knicks would get. David Lee could be a great fit in the triangle and to keep them competitive and maybe they can even resign Lee at a cheap price. You have to figure that the knicks would be getting BK's pick and have a shot at Simmons or at least a top 5 pick to pair with KP!! If the knicks could also dump some salary as well and an extra 2nd rd pickand i would call it a day. They can sign Batum in the offseason and keep building until 2017 when they add Westbrook!!

He gets enough right that you have to pay attention.

and Boston would still have a ton of picks to improve. Now thats a rebuild. Make it to the Eastern Conference and instead of drafting late in the draft and flaming out like most teams. You reload and come back stronger year after year with maximum flexibilty and assets

I agree. Love would fit perfect with that Celtics team depending on who they put in the trade besides draft picks. I like Love better on Boston than i do the Cavs.

Wow, i knew they had a lot but never saw exactly how many and they have multiple picks for the next 3 years....crazy.
nyknickzingis @ 2/12/2016 11:22 PM
The Knicks would have something like 40 million in capspace this summer if they took on Lee and Mosgov to go with the Nets draft pick.
Would possibly be able to go after DeRozan AND Conley. Not saying either would come, but it's interesting situation.

You also do Melo right because you send him to the best team in the East and 3rd best team in the league that will be in the Finals virtually the next 2 years. Giving him a real shot at winning a ring.

I like this move, and it makes a ton of sense in regards to how Phil Jackson was talking about Melo that day. Almost weird how Phil kept bringing up the way the team played without Melo and that it was "his no trade clause" that kept him off the table.
