Before most of you lose your minds on "I'd take XXXX and XXXX only for melo" the important thing is to look at it from perspectives not of the knicks, but of........

1. Clev. has to have enough parts and pieces to see itself vastly improving. Melo's knee is balky but its expected this could happen after surgery and still be fine for the balance of his contract. This is about getting over the hump of GSW or SAS. They did this last year making moves and it came together in time despite injuries to Love and Kyrie. Well, almost!

2. Boston don't care about anyone but Boston, and Love is a white star player that for some reason fits its demographics. They could still be a very good team and have a bunch of picks afterwards. Clev needs picks in return as well. Money can't buy you LOVE, but draft picks can!!!

3. Melo holds all the cards and is last to respond. He has to look at it from a few angles. He has to play with JR again and shump. Kyrie is a talent but a black hole They trade Mozgov what bigs do they get in return?

4. Then there is the Miami angle and this is really good for knicks because we need two teams bidding. Problem is I like the Brooklyn pick as the centerpiece of any deal with Cleveland, and Celtics should not have any problem with that. In lieu of that its about Justice Winslow as the new centerpiece. Is Dragic also a part of that deal or is it Deng?
If Im Melo it comes down to playing with Lebron but Cleveland sucks, or playing with Bosh and Wade but La La is happy in Miami. For Miami it adds great value to Bosh and Wade who are fading. I know this sounds crazy but Miami can win with Jose in Dragic's place post trade. Yes, Jose is not as good as Dragic, but he is acceptable because he is the 4th option on that team and takes care of the ball. We take Anderson back and they get their pick of Seraphin or KOQ. If losing Winslow is a problem Perhaps DWilliams fill that slot. The perspective has to include Miami walking away a better team with melo, but not depleted because of him. Keeping melo from Clevelend also gives them a shot. So Riley has to sell Melo that they'll be good enough to win and work with Phil. Phil needs to walk away with some decent now parts which should not be hard, but winslow if he believes can be his Triangle centerpiece of the future.

5. Houstan Rockets, Dwight is a piece of shyt but he is still a max deal even after this year? Is this how Cleveland goes? Does Rockets want Love? "Love and Rockets".........

Boston Can't get Love without a three way for Cleveland to get a star piece to replace him. I doubt Durant fits into any of this but if OKC gets the sense they lose him for nothing would KD accept a trade. If so, this gets really wild. Not that Durant goes to Boston or Cleveland, but he'd have to negotiate or promise to resign and pieces start flying around like crazy.

Potentially you have Love, Dwight and Melo in play.

In the end the odds of any of this are far and away from being reality but its fun to dream!

I don't have one at this point. Please, Im not prognosticating here. Just going on the potential pieces in place and Riley usually tries to swing for the fences from time to time. Bosh is not playing and if anything real serious I doubt Melo wants any part of that. I forget Amare is on that team. Not a factor but its funny.

La La cosmetics company is based in Miami and Melo owns a soccer team in Pueto Rico. I can see him there very easy.

Im really not surprised by any of this as I thought it was all part of the strategy when Melo resigned. I think the surgery was expected and if after a while Knicks not in contention they'd look to trade him. Melo gets his money and knicks get assets in return. Very reasonable.

I can see Horford going to Boston but I don't know if ATL is retooling. For that matter I could see ATL taking on Love, but what does free agent Horford do for Clev that Love didn't?

As Martin suggested, Toronto should chim in and sweeten the pot for Knicks to get more picks and not take on salary. This makes our pick for valuable the more we lose.

I think any deal would involve Moz and David Lee. That pretty much covers the salary. Knicks might need to send out Early/Amundson.

I find myself to be drawn to Jose...has a scruffy manly gunslinger look that appeals to me. Could you call this attraction "love," I just don't know.

Its like your looking for an argument where there is none. At this time Galloway is getting closing minutes and his defense is very good. its not about who starts but who finish's. They also play in the back court together.

Ideally next season we come back with 2 new starters in the backcourt. Won't be easy to accomplish this.

See above where one clearly stated that Jose is the floor General. Without him, we have no one to organize the offense

I don't really care for your running around answering the question so if you could please show me who's in love with Jose like i asked that would be great......still waiting.

Melo is 31 .. having the chance to be teammates with Lebron or CP3 .. plus the chance of seeing the Finals at age 31.
Phil is looking at our last 12 games that has a 1-11 record .. plus Phil is also looking at the returns he will get trading Melo at the deadline vs what returns he will get when Melo scream to be traded in the offseason?

dude martin is right, it's not that anyone is jumping on you, we don't have anything remotely better then calderone, i mean no one. Grant can't shoot, sasha can't shoot, and galloway is more of a 6th man. He doesnt turn the ball over, and he's shooting 41% from down town, and 47% overall. The rest of our guards are no even close.

Alo he second on the team in steals, grant gets beat just as much as he does, and sashas useless except for a few meaningless 3's. So while we would all love to get a good deal for calderone, or get some other pg better, the fact of the matter is, Phil clearly hasn't seen enough to bring jimmer in for a 10 day because he plays zero defense of any kind, and isn't an above avg rebounder (those are the things that got golloway called up), and scoring is not what this offense needs.

You should realize this when you saw a guy like thansis, (who can't shoot a lick0 got called up ahead of jimmer the scorer.
