Even if we can't move him we should just buy him out and replace him with jimmer .
Jose needs to retire and work on coaching. I bet even when we buy him out no one picks him up... Dude is strait trash. Good guy but God aweful basketball player
Jimmer today said he is more of a shooter than a passer.

Only in NY This dude can be viewed as a best option. I agree with you 1000%

The triangle does not need a pure PG. If you have ball handling skills, and can pass the ball, you will be just fine if you can also make shots

But it does need someone who can actually bring the ball up the court to start the offense.

Melo?
I'm pretty sure jimmer can run the offense .. He's running the same one in westchester

We need to try to take some responsibility and wear and tear off Melo's knees.
I hope Jerian was shooting 1000 jumpers a day over the past week and a half.

Right because running a d-league team is just like running a NBA team.......GEESH.

It seems like Trice brings the ball up the majority of the time. Jimmer did not look that great playing for the spurs preseason and in limited minutes for the Pelicans. He deserves a call up but I don't know that he is the guy to replace Jose.
He is obviously not the worst starting pg..
TAB wrote:Jimmer today said he is more of a shooter than a passer.
I believe that if the knick dont make a trade, jimmer will probably get a call, but is anybody asking themselves why nobody else is giving him a 10 day..why isn't anybody braking down the door to sign him despite the video game type numbers.
He is going to get smoked by every pg in the league
I think the only way you can get away with Jimmer is if he is playing SG. And he's small for a SG. He'd have to really shoot the lights out.
I dunno, maybe give him a shot in April if we're totally out of the playoffs race.
For the next six weeks or so, I think the team needs to try to get some momentum back and make whatever attempt they can to play better and finish close to .500.
Playing Jimmer doesn't accomplish that. Does anyone really think he's the PG of the future? He's older than Ricky Rubio and Brandon Jennings.

Hard telling really. Could be that Jimmer is just feeling the opposite of what kept him in the league. I am not opposed to Jimmer being here, because I think he can play in the triangle and like I said if my 15th player is a 90+ shooter from the line he is better than most players at that level. I just don't want him getting KP in foul trouble. Westchester does a great job protecting...I don't know if we can. I think like most people...just get the 10 day out of the way and the drama could be over for good. I really do want him to stick though because he does create excitement for a crappy team.
I think if we can get the ball out and run he can be an early offensish sorta PG. But once that option is up...noooo. Meaning if he can run out and pull up or dish to say DW or LT...then he would kinda be a pg. But not.
We did. Several times:
Felton (second tour of duty)
Tony Douglas (starter in 2011)
Duhon
Since Duhon took over for Marbury in 2008-09, the Knicks have had the bottom of the barrel starting point guards, except for 2010-11 where Chauncey Billups and Felton played decently as starters, and the infamous 25 games of Linsanity. The rest of the 4 1/2 years have been largely terrible defense, below average shooting and/or no driving ability.
Phil successfully ran the Triangle without a true PG of years. It's not an offense that MUST have a Pure PG tho you can do well with one. It's better if you have skilled Combo Guards or SG's that can Shoot, Drive and Pass at a good level.
Big guards with skills are the best fit IMO. We all saw how Shved took to this like a fish in water, cuz he was pretty much the prototypical Triangle Guard. Shved was a better fit for that Kobe, MJ role than AA is. AA isn't as quick to the basket nor the passer that you want in that role.
Jimmer IMO is kind of like a younger more offensive minded Jose. I think he could function well enough on offense but of course he'd be weak on D. He would be an upgrade over what we get from Jerian at this point.

Two guys that fit that description: 6'6" Spencer Dinwiddie and 6'4" E'twaun Moore. Dinwiddie would take a trade but unlike other more high profile players, I think we have the pieces to get him and Moore is an UFA this summer who shouldn't be too expensive at all. Moore could be a lot of bang for buck. Two multi-faceted guards I hope Phil is keeping an eye on.

Is Dinwiddie a free agent this summer? I thought I read that all of Detroits point guards other than Reggie were.

Jimmer is a pg, a scoring pg ... He needs the ball to be seccussful, his style of play is like curry just not as talented... if this team brings jimmer up as a back up 2 it would be pointless . He needs to play the same role as he plays in westchester .... Jimmer and trice both bring the ball up, they take turns when in the game together. But there is plenty of times jimmer is the primary pg in westchester.
