Knicks · Let's get real...We are not making the playoffs. It's time for auditions (page 2)
knickscity wrote:I must admit that watching another trade deadline past by with no real upgrades is absolutely disgusting. I could see no making moves if the team is in a good position, but it's way too far from that.
I would use "disappointing," instead of "disgusting," but there did not seem to be many great moves to be made. You know that Jackson wanted to get some help for the team, but it looks like he was right not to make a Bargnani type deal to get a Beverly or Teague.
You look at the potential Beverly "deal" and it was obvious that Morey was trying to rip us off. I expect that Atlanta, still pissed off with the Hardaway trade, was attempting to get a little revenge in any Teague trade on the table.
You can't deal out of desperation when, even with the deal, we will probably not make the playoffs.
It would have been more disappointing for me if we had overpaid for a player in the way we usually seem to have done in this century.
Fuck it. We have a GM that stood up for us. We need to continue to find diamonds on the rough. Not everyone is going to fit, but we have to keep mixing in pieces. The Knicks are very close. If the Knicks sign Jimmer and or Wroten, they could be the diamonds we're looking for. That would save us so much money. Money that can go to players worth the trouble to sign
EnySpree wrote:You have to see what happened.... Foye got 2 players, a 1st and a second round pick put up for him. If he cost that much to move, then you could imagine what Atlanta wanted for Teague. No love lost. It's just these idiot gms out there setting the market with these horrible trades. Just like they set the market with the overpaid players in the summer.Fuck it. EXACTLY!!! The league really misses the old Knicks during the deadline. Phil did the right thing by not biting on one of these bad deals. There's no reason at all to make desperation moves.

Knicks just have to get back to playing the way they were before the injuries. If they do they'll be competitive.I don't want Grant going back to playing like he was. I don't want Melo playing 40+ minutes to win meaningless games. I don't want Jose or Aflallo playing heavy minutes over Grant and Galloway's development. I don't want Sasha to ever see the court again.
I do want us to add a few yoots to audition for our future and yes, that means playing them even if they don't know the triangle. The rest of the games are meaningless, we are not making the playoffs. Let's rest our vets, play our kids and fill our open roster spot
Their not gonna stop trying to win just to play Jerian more minutes. If he shows he can play the position Rambis will play him. There's no reason not to try and win games. Aside from Jerian our young players already play.
Phil is most likely going to fill the last spot soon. Basically the Knicks are already doing the right thing. Now they've gotta get it done on the court. Should be a very interesting close to the season.
Interesting how so? We've already seen what this roster can do. We are 23-32. Calderon/Sasha are not the future. How is watching them fail interesting? Time to start auditions. If we are in win mode, it is going to put a heavy burden on Melo and his knees and for what?
melo has a 124 million reason to play until he drops, you gain zero playing yoots in a losing culture..IMO Galloway took a step back, maybe thats because of all the losing he was brought into the NBA doing.
Knicks have a good team, and Rambis has 27 games to prove he is above assistant quality. WOODSON went 18-6 when he took over, Rambis needs to go 20-7
If he puts Sasaha and seraphin in the line (unless it's absolutely needed) he's toast, and so are the playoffs. Rotate 9/10 guys, play grant heavy minutes through his mistakes, play melo and KP a lot together, no injuries, more Robin lopez in the forth.
KOQ, I have know idea what to do with him, he makes good plays and very bad ones just like seraphin, Admunson and sasha.
I really would rather jimmer than sasha

Making up the five games the Knicks are out of a playoff spot just got tougher."Going forward, I would like the Knicks to (not publicly) acknowledge they are not a playoff team and start committing to developing our younger players. This means less minutes for Calderon and more for Grant. Vucjicek needs to never play another minute and even Almundson is a roster spot the Knicks can use to start auditioning Free agents on friendly contracts or 10 days. Also, both Melo and Aflallo need to be playing 30 minutes and less the rest of the way.
Maybe it's just me not being ready for how dull the rest of the season is going to be unless we start getting some kids in here trying to make the club. And please, no geriatric waiver wire pick ups, we need youth.
Do it for me Phil!
i agree 100%. as knicks fans, we need to stop kidding ourselves ("if we win 9 in a row, this team is better than its record"). LOL. this is a mediocre team. in my opinion, they didnt EARN the right to upgrade themselves with a trade. in stead play the young guys (yes that includes Early), take flyers on other young players and go from there. To me this season was about doubling the win total (34 wins), developing KP and other young players. I dont care about jose, affalo, vujucic, seraphin and other vets who WONT be here when were good in a few yrs

I think KP's issues were related to his sinus infection.

im talking about simply playing our young guys as many mins as possible....KP, gallo, lance, early, grant and even D will...let them get the most experience they can get. of course the vets have to play (jose, AA, melo) but their playing time shouldnt be the priority...in my opinion

Knicks are signing Jimmer. Lets see if he gets any of Sasha or Jose's minutes. I have a feeling Rambis sticks to a tight 9-10 man rotation and Jimmer won't get much run
