Knicks · Knicks to sign Fredette (page 7)

He's got to listen to instructions and stick to the plan. This is probably his last shot at the nba.

Truthfully the triangle might be what he needs. There's a script to follow. Making buckets is what Jimmer does. He'll get tons of open looks. Right now the Knicks ate getting great shots but aren't consistent enough. He should feast. I'm really cheering for the guy

The question should be: will he be given the chance to truly earn the minutes necessary to showcase his talents??? We already have a similar player in Gallo and I see no way that Rambis will this dude over any of our guards at the moment. And no Nalod or Martin, I am not bashing anyone from the back court

What comments of his did you find so offensive?

Everyone is given a chance if earned. But based on how they play in practice not because of a fans hyped up expectations. This thread is very revealing. As it shows how many are enamored with long shot picks. The same that would get rid of proven player at the drop of a hat.

Can't judge Eric green most minutes he played in A game is 4 minutes.. Can't really say he's had a opportunity to show what he can do... Same goes for jimmer if we are not going to play him 20 + minutes what's the point in bringing him up...

Did you buddy give you that stat....because again you are wrong. Green played 12 and 9 and 4 minutes in the last 3 games.

Teams can't evaluate players in practice?

Oh I didn't see that on my I phone when I looked at his min on game log ESPN ... My bad ... Still hard to evaluate a player via game time when the most minutes you play is 12 . I don't watch the Jazz so I can't tell you if he had a impact in other ways ... And I'm sure they see him play in practice and can evaluate him that way... Still it would be ashame if jimmer's high minutes for a game is 12. Especially when we have the worst starting pg in the NBA that is a third string player on most rosters. For us what do we have to loose playing jimmer 20+ minutes he can't be worse then Jose, and at least he can get to the hoop and score in transition that's 2 of many things jose can't do.

fitzfarm @ 2/22/2016 10:30 AM
Again Jose gets owned on a nightly basis by guys like former less talented d league players like Donald Sloan ... I can't imagine what a more talented player like jimmer is going to do to Jose in practice.. Probably make Jose look aweful like most of the NBA and ex dleague players do .

Not a fan of Jose, but to think Jimmer is going to come in and make an impact is setting expectations way too high. Sloan put up 17 on Rondo recently and has double digit points against a bunch of teams this year. The guy can play.

Who is a lock down two way player in the NBA at the PG position?

The top PG's are able to score regardless of facing a good defensive PG. Having a good defensive PG helps most against the non elite PG's. That's how you stack up wins. In our case we would have to wait for Free Agency and development of Jerian and Gallo in order to really improve defensively at PG. The point of Jimmer is to hopefully get more scoring. If he can hit some shots it will help the spacing since he has more of a rep as a shooter, teams will pay more attention to him.

EnySpree @ 2/22/2016 11:26 AM
When you speak on a player or situation you need to know what you are talking about? Going hard about an opinion and then don't even know the full story is just ignorant.

How did Thanasis do? Kid had a 5-10 night from the corner 3 the game previous and from the highlights his form looked good.

The point you are missing, is that Jimmer - has been in the D-league, which means every team in the league believes he is not even a third stringer.

Not only can Jimmer be worse than Jose - he has a proven track record of being worse than Jose. I hope Jimmer comes up and plays great - but it's just not likely that a guy that no team in the NBA is interested in, is going to play as well as even the "worst starting PG in the NBA".

For every guy who comes out of the D-League and surprises everyone there are dozens who are given a shot and are returned to the D-League.

I agree....he's an actual PG while Jimmer is the SG. He's not afraid to penetrate, and has a nice little mid range jumper. I just think he's also on the small side, which is hurting him and Jimmer. Both are small for their positions, but I think they can help.

i've been to two games and thanasis never stood out to me, i don't even notice him on the floor when he's out there.

Proven or has been??? This is a "what you have done for me lately" league

The New York Knicks have signed Jimmer Fredette from the NBA Development League’s Westchester Knicks to a 10-day contract.

Fredette, 6-2, 195-pounds, holds career averages of 6.0 points, 1.4 assists and 1.0 rebounds over 13.5 minutes in 233 games (seven starts) over five seasons with Sacramento, Chicago and New Orleans. He rejoined the Westchester Knicks, after being waived by the Pelicans on Nov. 19, 2015, and has averaged 21.8 points (fifth in the D-League), 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds over 36.2 minutes in 30 games. He earned MVP honors after a game-high 35 points in the D-League All-Star game in Toronto, ONT last weekend.
