This right here....if he didn't draft Kristaps Porzingis, his early returns on his presidency of the New York Knicks would likely be viewed as a colossal failure. Game done passed this phucking moron by.

Everyone is referring to his own memory. Abdul-Rauf was running with 72-win Bools Phil supper-team and handed them one of this 10 loses... Who knows how this dude will play in modern no-defense allowed NBA... Plus with his anti-American antics he wood be the brand of himself unless will opt-out to go fighting in ISIS ranks...
BigRedDog@ 2/29/2016 9:29 AM
No 1st round draft pick again this yr. No fault of Phils. Tough to keep improving with no 1st round pick.

Believe Jeff Van Gundy handed Phil one of his 10 losses too.
That said even if Chris Jackson played in today's no hand check rule NBA, I doubt he'd be able to put up 50/90/40, break and set 3pt records while winning MVPs and Championships along the way.
Maybe Phil meant Seth Curry?
HofstraBBall@ 2/29/2016 9:41 AM
Typical old man hysteria. It will get worae. Maybe he is trying his Zen like powers to motivate Curry? All kidding aside, hope his stubbornness on his style if play doesn't cost us many more years of mediocre play.
jrodmc@ 2/29/2016 9:45 AM
I'm starting to appreciate lines like "Popovich has better things to do than tweet. Phil should too."
I'm wondering if this is just a part of his grand exit strategy with No Communications Jimmy.
NYKBocker@ 2/29/2016 9:46 AM
It really isn't a bad comparison. Curry is like Chris Jackson on PEDs. Chris played when hand checks were allowed and he lit up some really good defensive PGs. Here are a couple of games against Stockton and Kidd

Could be...I wouldn't be surprised if he made up an excuse by 2017, health issues, or going back to Montana to retire and marry Jeannie, only to see him take over the reins at Laker land.

Couple of games don't make a comparison. Jeremy Lin lit up the Lakers for 38 points, doesn't make him great either.
NYKBocker@ 2/29/2016 9:56 AM
Here is another one with Kevin Johnson giving Chris Jackson props.

It's a bad comparison, you can give it a rest.
They don't have comparable games at all. Chris Jackson was 2 guard in a 6'1 body. He didn't have anywhere near the same handle, the play making ability, the deep range on the 3 ball, the offensive efficiency, or the work ethic and winning attitude and intangibles that Steph Curry has.

Uncle Phil said short/brilliant run. Not sure if you remember Chris Jackson in the mid-90s but he was really really good. He also suffered from tourette syndrome. If I remember correctly he was having difficulties with his meds. He was a weird cat though. He had that national anthem debacle and even hid logos in his uniforms when he played because he was not signed by the sponsors.

I didn't hate Chris Jackson, he was one of the best free throw shooters in history. Political statements and tourettes aside, he could not have buried a 35 footer to win the game against the Thunder in OT like Curry did.
Caseloads@ 2/29/2016 10:07 AM
games and the release and the frames look similar to me
crzymdups@ 2/29/2016 10:10 AM
The Phil shit is clearly because he feels threatened by the GSW's chances of beating his 72-10 record. And also because he's bitter about Kerr. He's probably misguided enough to think that Kerr would be doing that here. And while Kerr would probably be better than Rambis... meh. I still think firing Fisher was a massive misstep. I think that ruins everything and Phil should just take his talents to Redondo Beach.

Uh, no.
The way Curry dribbles the ball is like it's a yo yo, he has a left hand layup, and his elbow angle on his jumper is different and release on his jumper is much quicker.

Well. We have our own points of view. I agree somewhat with Uncle Phil. I can see where he was coming from. I can see where you are coming from.
Nalod@ 2/29/2016 10:18 AM
some of you outraged cuz the media painted it up for you.
So basically OP wanted to "give" Phil a chance this off season but not sure because of this tweet?? Really?
You gonna give it to us daily like you do with Melo???

This was probably what Big Chief Triangle was talking about when Curry made that buzzer beater.

Who cares what he says on twitter. He likes to troll a little bit, you can't take it serious. Also, highlighting a point you made. He did draft KP, so no matter what else he does, he can't be viewed as a major failure, he drafted a franchise cornerstone. "IF he didn't draft him" ok, but what if he DID have more first round picks? Maybe his approach would be different. But he doesn't, so he's building his team accordingly. Hypotheticals work both ways.

Come on man, it was an insult. It's like comparing Melo to Lebron James or Larry Bird, shouldn't happen. Stop sticking up for the old fogey because you read the 11 rings.
