Knicks · Chandler Parsons?? (page 1)

Well this one came out of nowhere. I didn't even know he was a free agent in 2016 and never even gave him any thought for us.

Whatcha guys think about this??

EnySpree @ 3/1/2016 2:36 PM
If we moved Melo maybe. We can't invest in players that would be coming off the bench until we get our starters in place. No I don't think he can slide to the 2.
yellowboy90 @ 3/1/2016 2:44 PM
I thought he may look at the Knicks since he seems like a guy who wants the limelight to promote his image. Orlando has space and is very close to where he is from and he would step in and be their number 1 offensive option.

Back to the knicks, Unless the Knicks are willing to go small and play Melo at the 4 then I doubt this happens.

Phil made a point to say he wanted to avoid players only interested in building their brand. I love what the guy did in Houston but he's been trying to get healthy all year on the Mavs. He should check out brooklyn

I like the dude I'm just saying. Seems like a good kid, a ball player/gamer. For us he's not a priority for us unless we move Melo.

To play the game, I think Chandler Parsons would be great playing next to KP and Rolo. If we trade Melo for Kyrie is on!

Jose and Sasha oh no!

I truthfully can't even think of an all white backcourt worth mentioning. Basketball is basketball but I guess it would be noteworthy.

Minnesota was close to an all "white" starting 5 in 2014:

Love (PF)
Budinger (SF)
Pekovic (C)
Martin (SG)
Rubio (PG)

He also is a leader. He was captain of the Rockets as a second year pro.

Yeah i was wondering if he could slide to the 2 against certain lineups but i don't really think could could guard any SG's really.

solid player. too bad his bones are made of paper
VCoug @ 3/1/2016 9:42 PM
He's nice but I don't see him making a significant impact for us next year if we sign him. And, I would imagine his contract will eat up a significant portion of our cap space and prevent us from making any major changes to our backcourt this Summer.

he cuts and moves quite actively and decisively. I like his game and his bball IQ

He looks good again but he did have micro fracture surgery. That scares me a lot. The only guys that I can come up with that continued to play well after that surgery for a reasonable period of time are Kidd and ZBo. There maybe more but I am not sure. Parsons is reported to be a leader and high character guy. Combine that with health and he is definitely worth pursuing.

I believe K-mart had it done on both knees and was still very explosive.

I think he is the only player to ever have it done on both knees. His game was always provocative and explosive. I followed him on the nets. I didn't watch him on the nuggets unless they played the knicks. When he came to the knicks he had lost a lot of athleticism. Some of that had to be due to age.
I guess I would want a doctor familiar with Chandler to give an endorsement before I would sign him. The knicks might ignore doctors predictions regarding an ailment and sign him no matter what like Amare but hopefully they have learned from past mistakes. The Knicks have two franchise crushers in Dyess and Amare in their past that came in as damaged goods. Not sure I go there.
newyorker4ever @ 3/2/2016 11:59 AM
I like Parsons and would love to have him but he doesn't quite fit with what we have now. I'm sure we could find ways to get him plenty of playing time but signing him would hurt our chances of significantly upgrading our back court which we all know is our biggest area of need. When he's on though the kid can play and he can shoot it.
