Knicks · Did Rambis really say ..... (page 1)

helloharv @ 3/2/2016 9:46 AM
....He wants KP to be a rim runner and 1st big down the floor ?

WHY ?

If we have KP running to the rim he may get a few buckets but that means Lopez is the trail secondary break person at top of the key where he CANNOT SHOOT --- Doesn't it make so much more sense to have Lopez be the rim runner with KP trailing to hit the 3 or be ready to run the pick and roll up top

Think he wants to get him away from the SG mentality, on fast breaks, where he hovers the three point line instead of attacking the basket, using his size and finishing ability for easy baskets. Makes sense as he is 7'3. The one time he did it yesterday, he instantly got fouled.

Did Rambis really say he can't play Jimmer because of his defense but keeps putting out Jose's sorry azz every game on defense. Another guard torching Jose for 18pts at halftime. Gallo really sucks but lets keep trying the same shyt. Whats the definition of insanity-- trying the same shyt and hoping for different results.

good point !

callmened @ 3/2/2016 11:01 AM
foolish misuse of KP. hes best used as a pick and pop big who can shoot 3s or close out on defenders who try to contest his shot.

foolishness

Does Lopez even make it down the floor on fast break. Lol. Think he would prefer KP to get that first touch. Nothing more.

Lopez and KP are to tall to play together in this league the way it is now.

I'm sad for these comments.

The small ball has corrupted the Knick fan base.

My question....

do we want to push the ball, rebound and play defense? Or do we want to play nba2k16 where every shot taken is a3 pointer. You gotta have some kind of structure. You guys ate fighting for ymca basketball. I just don't get it

helloharv @ 3/2/2016 1:04 PM
Do you notice who usually takes the ball out of bounds after the team scores? KP !

If you want him to get the 1st touch, why would he be taking the ball out

Who is pushing the ball? Do you realize we rank almost dead last in fast break points

You are illiterate. That's first and foremost. Can't have a conversation with someone with poor reading comprehension.

We want to run, rebound and play defense but you are tripping cuz you want the athletic 7'3" big man to trail plays so he can shoot threes. That's garbage

Rambis wants KP to work on game skills he need improvements at.
If Knicks win or not any of 20 remaining games no one give a crap. And rightfully so.
Its a big extended practice session. I am glad they have it finally.

ummm yeahhh...go look at how many 3 pointers the hawks and warriors ttok between the 2 of them last night.

nyknickzingis @ 3/2/2016 7:05 PM
Uh, Kristaps will be a much better overall player if he plays inside the paint/mid-range and in area vs just standing outside all the time. Fisher was allowing him to make the stretch 4 his niche and you know Phil Jackson didn't like that. I totally agree. The advanced statistics show that Porzingis is more effective in the paint, closer to the basket. They show he's very good when he's in a rebounding position (putbacks) on offense. They show he's very good at rolling to the basket. If he runs fast and posts up, the chances are he'll be defended by a 6'6 guy. He'll have an easy look at the basket. That doesn't mean he shouldn't shoot 3's or long jumpers. However he shouldn't just milk the screen/pop play, which is what he wants to do at times.

If there's one thing to trust about Rambis, it's how to work with bigs. He worked with a young Bynum, he worked with very young Kevin Love and he's worked with Pau Gasol as well. He knows what he's talking about here. Everyone's fallen in love with Golden State and forgotten that only Golden State has Golden State talent to play like that. If you maximize the talent you have you can win playing your way.

That had nothing to do with us. If you guys could you would run a offense that never cross the 3 point line.

Problem with out team is we have the worst back court in the league. Our guards need to be able to create. We can't have our bigs shooting 3s exclusively.

lets def stay away from small ball. I way rather have big ball and the big chief running seraphins.

nyknickzingis @ 3/2/2016 11:44 PM
We act as if we have the type of talent to play small and win. We don't.
The Knicks tried small ball. It was the D'Antoni era. Real successful. NOT.

The only time the team has won this season is when the opposition plays big and we can keep our bigs on the floor.

If they go small, we wind up in a lot of trouble.

The whole league goes small. The league has figured out the Knicks are not built to do that. They're only good when they go big aka play a traditional lineup.

So teams go small against us. And murder us.
