Knicks · Rambis is a terrible coach, much worse than Fisher (page 2)

But perhaps Shaw and Fisher, like so many ex-Lakers players before them, are just part of a broader and yet quite dubious historical NBA oddity: could it be possible that ex-Lakers simply make crummy head coaches?

Interesting article from awhile back with mentions of Shaw (next?) Fisher, and Rambis.

If Shaw is next I might take a break from the Knicks. I would want Phil fired on the spot.

Grant should be starting and finishing games from here on out. What are the Knicks really playing for now other than development of the young players.

He benched KP for a reason last night. It might have been fatigue. Before tonight he was talking up kp and trying to get him more involved.

Other than that I can't see what you guys are talking about as far as playing vets over youth. You just don't like Calderón and wanna see Jerian Grant. Just say that. Don't make up stuff just to prove your point. In Minnesota he wanted Love to play defense and to play more inside. Love didn't want to do that and you can see that in his game now. Btw, Ryan Gomes never played for Rambis in Minnesota....look stuff up before you start posting lies just to make a point

Well I actually am OK with Jose, I don't hate on a guy for his limitations and last night he made the smart PG play in the same situation that Grant jumped in the air and chucked the ball. Now that being said benching Grant for the whole game after that play made me sick. I cant think of a better way to hurt a young guy's confidence. This isn't game 6 of the finals. Grant should be allowed to play through this. He knew he phucked up. That sequence really soured me on Rambis. I mean if you aren't going to let him play through his mistakes send him to Westchester. This jumped out at me as terrible coaching.

+1

Dont care if Calderon starts, just want Grant to get real PT or be sent to the D-League, he should be playing somewhere. The only thing Rambis is focused on developing is his bank account.

Thats disgusting dude. Again benching grant could a legit beef but saying he's only out for his bank account? All that after only coaching the team since the all star break? That's disgusting bro

Obviously there's not much to be done at this point in the season, but if he's back next year, I don't know if I'll bother watching any games. I don't know if I can watch any games Rambis bumbles through the rest of this year.

I thought Fisher was a solid, improving coach. Rambis is god awful. I think the decision to fire Fisher is one of Phil's worst moves - and there a lot of candidates.

We need a real coach. Thibs won't work because of Garden politics aka Dolan. Hopefully Luke Walton is ready to leave one of the best teams of all-time and give up the chance of a three peat to come try to fix our mess. Otherwise, we're gonna get Brian Shaw, who ain't much better than Rambis.

KP has a bruised leg and will not play tonight. How about that for a rEason Rambis didn't play him down the stretch?

What part of of no chance of making the playoffs did you miss? Nothing to gain by giving heavy minutes to aging guards who are not part of the team's future. The only thing Rambis has to gain is a better record and a new deal. Knick fans see their first round pick PG riding the bench when he should be out there learning. Thats disgusting bro.

I can deal with that. I can't deal with the extra stuff. Rambis is Phil's guy. Their good friends on a family level. He's not worried about being fired. He took the job as an associate head coach to help Fisher. Phil wanted a younger voice. Rambis already know what he signed up for. He's here to help Phil....

EnySpree @ 3/5/2016 7:39 PM
So Rambis is a bad coach cuz he benched KP last night..... but turns out he hurt himself and that's the real reason he was benched.

He's also an asshole cuz he played Ryan Gomes ahead of Love..... but Gomes never even played for Rambis....

now all he cares alot is s pay day..... but he's arguably one of Phil's best friend in life. He was here to help transition Fisher. Chances are Phil will hire a younger voice. Chances are Rambis will still be on the coaching staff.

Liked your other response better. This one coming from someone who was trashing Lopez for months before he came around is pretty funny.

Nether fisher or rambis is any good
Both stank,
Phil Jackson grade F= coaches,

He can't have strike 3 on coach selections in summer
Or they're going to be mutiny in NYC!

CrushAlot @ 3/5/2016 9:15 PM
Not a big fan of his playing Melo until the final minute of games that have the outcome decided well before the final minute. Tonight it was the second night of a back to back.

But it's a fact he was playing like crap at the time... Rolo is playin his best basketball of his careerfor us right now. Nobody though he would be this good offensively. Respectis due. I'm not making stuff up like some of these pOster do.

What's funny is that I point out how stupid these posters are then you throw it back at me. Garbage

No, you werent paying attention. He got better every month, in spite of Fisher pulling him after 2 fouls regardless of his impact, while leaving him on the bench in crunch time. Leads were lost when he went to the bench. Im sorry you didnt pick up on that, also sorry you didnt leave well enough alone with your first response, the rest has been garbage. Dont feel like wading in it any longer so I will leave you to wallow in it, bro.

Just shows how ignorant you are going after me alot me saying Rolo sucked when he clearly did at the time.

Yet a guy can say Rambis played ryan Gomes over Love but Gomes never played for Rambis. Just ignore that but tell me I'm not paying attention. Garbage

nyknickzingis @ 3/6/2016 10:30 AM
Knicks are 3-7 since Rambis took over. Fisher had lost 8 out of his last 9.
Boston game should have been their's.
Also threw away the Indiana game.

Easily could have been a .500 team since Rambis took over. And this is without question during a time the team is in a major rut, lost all their confidence and has a depleted weak backcourt without a single starting caliber ballhandling guard (Some ok to solid backups)

mreinman @ 3/6/2016 6:24 PM
who cares ... they both suck and our next coach will probably suck too.

The only phil guy that I would not barf on is walton.
