Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks have a mutual out clause after the 16-17 season.

Jackson asked for the out clause for the summer of 2017 because of the possibility of the work stoppage, but both sides also understood a no-fault out clause would also benefit both parties.

There is a possibility of Jackson returning to the Los Angeles Lakers depending on what happens with Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak.

This has been out there for awhile but I hadn't heard this before today.

It's why he will not go after Luke Walton. He wants to save him for LAL.

Man media treats this team as if it's the New York Phil Jackson's.

Media loves a big target. They relish the chance to rip a person that has the great reputation and all the accolades. This is why Clyde is the smartest man in NY. He stays out of the shooting range and thus his legacy is untarnished by the jackals in the media.

We've posted this like 18 times in the past month. It's been reported since Fisher was fired.

That's fine with me. He has one more season to see if he can make this turd blossom, if not, we remain the most dysfunctional franchise in team sports with no identity or direction.

Haven't sniffed the playoffs in 3 years and somehow we're the most valuable team in the NBA. Go figure! Dolan wins no matter what it seems.

All I hear on this board is about how contracts will look in 2017 when the cap goes up. Does anyone really believe for one second that the NBA owners are going to allow the increases that are being projected. No one is making 40 million a year, and we will have a lockout for sure. Im a little worried that it may hurt are chances in the draft next season. We will probably pick at the low end of the lottery 10 - 14. College and international players in that range may decide to not enter the draft because of a coming work stoppage
