I agree. He's always passed my eye test. I remember having this same conversation last year about Babbitt when I brought his name up. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder on a lot of guys--Ned's never cared for him but I see a good talent. To be honest though, the guy I really want for this role (reserve 3-man that we'll have minutes for) is Solomon Hill. Looking for a Lance Thomas replacement but not looking to pay a premium for it--Lance was having a nice year before he went down but I've never been sold on him. Is Lance really a quality NBA reserve or merely a guy that played well over his head this year at times? When I look around the league for cheap/afterthought-type talent that I believe could really take off with an expanded role, Solomon Hill really pops out at me at this position. Better overall talent level than Lance imo. Younger too and he's much more versatile--I think Hill could legitimately play 2/3 and possibly even some 4 at times--has a real good mix of skill, game, strength and athleticism.. But I've always felt Babbitt could play as well. I just hope we don't get too hung up on the year LT had. Nice year--he'll be due for a raise. And you know what? He deserves it--I just don't like him for more than the vet minimum here. The position I'm taking: not interested in overpaying anyone from this summer's crop of FAs unless it's KD (and he's not leaving OKC). I can understand Demar DeRozan but he's not coming here unless HE wants to leave Toronto. Otherwise, the Raptors will max that dude out including the extra year he can only get there and it'll be a wrap. I'd thank Lance and wish him all the best then go out there and secure better talent for even less. Just that simple. Solomon Hill is one option. So is PJ Hairston (more of a 2--I want him as my starting 2 in fact--but his size/strength at 6'6" 230 tells me he can play some 3 as well). And another guy I really like is Terrico White -- like Hairston at 6'5" 220ish White's a 2G but I think he could play some 3 as well. Playing extremely well in the DL. Just awarded DL player of the week for the 2nd time this season and he's followed that up with another handful of standout games. Decent size, strength, top athleticism and he's quite skilled--everything I'm looking for--flawless jumper (always squared up to the rim/never off balance), puts it on the floor and he can get out in transition. I honestly think White could be our very own Lance Stephenson for less that a 1/10 the price. As far as NBA wings go, Solomon Hill, PJ Hairston and Terrico White are 3 of the top deals out there in terms of value/bang for the buck. No question in my mind. I want all 3.

- Luke "dont-call-me-Lorraine" Bobbitt sucks to me. lol. and apparently, its not just me - its the people who watch him daily down in new orleans: ""Babbitt is nothing more than an end of the bench guy. He is buried behind guys like Pondexter and Cunningham, not to mention any possible new additions."
- Solomon Hill is a nice sleeper candidate. hes one of these "jack of all trade but master of none" swiss army knife types
- PJ Hairston is talented if hes motivated
- i dont follow the DLeague (hard for me to take it seriously when scores are 159-130)

but overall, the knicks should invest in young talent to build around KP. im all for that. but does melo approve of that? he wants to win now right. lol

I'm sure I'll get laughed at for this one but after watching Terrico White play many games this year in the DL, you all wanna know who this guy really reminds me of in terms of body type, game style & skill set? Buddy Hield. How 'bout that? Wow, like to a T! White is definitely a guy we should be looking at imo.

I think when Hield comes into the NBA--I think people will be surprised just how good his handle has improved. Hes got real skill going to the hoop. I think out of all the players in the draft--hes going to be effective as fast as anyone.

I know you used to talk about Babbitt. I think for 2mm a year you get a 6-9 F-SG who has a higher talent level than anyone we have on our bench quite frankly if you consider Affalo a starter. When you re building a team not everyone can make 9-10mm. You need guys who can play at 1-2-3 mm. He can play and I thought he was pretty effective defensively on Carmelo. I think he had a game last week where he was at 25 points early in the 3rd quarter. This guy can play he can handle it shoot it he has some very decent body control--he moved without the ball. Hes a very solid bench player who can step in and be effective a starter in case of injury. We dont have too many of those players. Yes we need the big time guys first--but hes a good player. I think a little more of a G than Lance Thomas who is purely a F.

no player in the next two summers will ask for a 1-3 mill contract. if they do, their agent should be fired on the spot

If you have league pass--watch the 2nd half of the NO game. Babbitt is a good player when he gets minutes.

i have NBA league pass for the past 5 yrs. lol. my typical night includes watching 4 different games on the computer while my watches her garbage reality tv. i even travel to random games cuz i simply love the NBA. i have seen bobbitt liveand on tv - hes siply NOT a good player. right now new orleans is playing with a skeleton crew so he will get mins. hes a solid shooter but thats ALL he can do. not only do i watch these games, but since im an NBA nerd, i have every NBA team news site/fan forum on my book marks page. as much as i post here, i also post there, bucks, houston, i all over the place. lol. everyone EVERYONE knows that bobbitt is a bad player. even his biggest supporters. lol

ned? why do you dislike the kid so much? hey i will always root for a fellow lefty like myself - but i can call out garbage when i see it. in fact, this is the typical march/april shipwreck that occurs each yr. bad players put up good stats cuz good teams are resting, players have shut it own. this is the equivalent of garbage TIME in the nba season

if you have google you can check his (career) stats and see that watching the second half of one game in his career is a silly and silly way to judge a player.

Have to look at the big picture with this type of player. He's been pretty much the same player since he came into the league...with little improvement, and you have to be surprised that he hasn't attempted to work on his body to get stronger and quicker.

You can see him as a Steve Novak type sniper, but he's a sub-par athlete (like Novak) who is not a good defender or rebounder (like Novak).

I'd probably pay him Lou Amundson type $$ if we had a spot open on the roster, but that is about it.

He also looks a lot like the Man Formerly Known As Bruce Jenner...which is not a good thing, IMO.

Walt come on--hes better than Novak--you have to be kidding me. Steve Novak cant dribble. Hes a guy you get for 1-2mm a year--thats what Im looking at here. He couldve helped us while Admundson did nothing.
