now that the NCAA season is over, heres my draft list. Just a coup[le of thoughts, this list is based on players I (personally) have seen in different types of scenarios - high school, High school at star games, junior olympics, college and international play. Basically I'm not basing this on youtube videos.
- When making this list, i obviously take into account PRO NBA potential, skills, and age. I can't measure motivation, drive, physical, mental or spiritual growth.
- Overall, this draft is a weak draft made up of a LOT of big men: some can score, defend, pass etc etc
- I also can't evaluate international talent that I haven't really watched. I heard there are about 4-5 international prospects that can be sprinkled around in the first round
- Also, there are a couple more events that will occur soon (NikeSummit April 9th) that could provide some more exposure for re-evaluation. Therefore, my list may change -- but probably not by much.
- Lastly, I don't proclaim to know the future - you never know what can happen with draft picks. Also a lot of their fates depend on WHERE they land. With that said, HERE GOES!
LOTTERY
1. B. Ingram (6-9 200/18y) - K.Durant skills who will be able to score on day 1. will need to grow into his MAN body.
2. B. Simmons (6-10 240/19) - a lil overrated (cant shoot) but you cant pass up a talent like this. at worse he's Giannis 2.0
3. J. Bender (7-1 225/18) - picture Porzingus - but better defense but not as good of a jumper. visa issues? may stay overseas?
4. J. Murray (6-5 200/19) - combo guard with great passing and shooting skills. very sound fundamentally; lacks athleticism
5. B. Hield (6-5 210/22) - best shooter in the country. will help from day 1. star player or good role player?!?!?
6. K. Dunn (6-4 205/22) - slasher, passer, defender and improving shooter. game better suited for NBA style (forced things at ties)
7. H. Ellenson (6-10 230) - Kaminsky 2.0 but more bouncy and fluid. prototypical stretch 4; weight and mobility issues
8. J. Brown (6-7 222/19) - best athlete in the draft, great defender; inconsistent jumper and dribbler
9. J. Poetl (7-1 210/20) - old school big man, goal tender and rim protector; underrated athleticism and passer
10. D. Jackson (6-1 190/21) - athletic point guard and leader; good defender and improved jumper; tough as nails (SLEEPER)
11. M. Chriss (6-9 225) - prototypical 3&D wing would could probably play some 4. excellent finisher, leaper, shooter and post (SLEEPER)
12. D. Sabonis (6-10 230/20) - excellent rebound, passer and post player. improved shooting range;
13. I. Rabb (6-10 210) - post skills, rebounding and improved defense; underrated jumper and athlete
14. Sk. Labesserie (7-0 210/20) - disappointing season, still raw; flashes potential with jumper and interior defense
(15. Thon Maker (7-1 210/19) - wild card of the draft (may not be eligible); 7fter with wing skills - shooting, passing etc
Rest of 1st rd

29. St. Zimmerman (7-0 230/19) - new age 5 man
30. M. Newman (6-4 180/19) - erratic combo
I noticed you have Labesserie ranked here...has he declared? If so, him being ranked so high shows how weak this draft is. That kid sucks...
Got the chance to watch Ingram play a couple of times last year at the HS level. Very talented kid and his game has evolved so much in one year....pretty excited for him. Ingram, Allen and Valentine are the only players worth watching, imo. Never understood the hoopla about Simmons....
He declared a few days ago
my bad if BRIGGS is the official draft expert here. don't mean to step on toes
