Phil should tell Melo go and kick rocks.

LMAO at the thread title! It's fitting, that guy is dense like a Melon.
If you want to be conspiratorial about this...you might think that Anthony is using this to build up a case for leaving.
Of course he might also be representing the team on this matter...which is something to consider, IMO.
This is a racial slur and you and the next poster need to be called out on it. I get most of you people don't like Melo but this is dangerous and should not be tolerated!

True, you might as well put Carmelo Anthony's mobile phone number at the bottom of the website.
If you connect the dots, it kind of points to him staying.
Unless, its a smoke screen to what he really wants to do which is leave for a contender....
If you look at his play, he is passing the ball A LOT.........If he wanted to leave, he'd sit.....
Unless he wants to appear to be a team kind of guy, which means he wants to be wanted, and leave......
But if that's the case, why risk getting hurt, so he should sit out.......
If he does that, then he looks like he is sulking and hurt his brand......
So wanting to be in on the decision might be a way to create a scenario where he is not consulted, then he can be offended, and justify leaving.....
Or, he if he does have a say, its his way of wanting to stay, which is good, but it also helps his brand and being a team guy, making it the knicks that end up with the trade thing idea......
To which he can then say "well, they want me out of here so what more can I do??"

Chuck, the gif, its Phil and Melo looking and laughing at you!!!!

I could buy Phil. No matter his failures as Knicks exec, he's got 13 rings in his trophy case, so he gets a hall pass for life pretty much.
Never Melo. He could be a gazillionaire richest man alive and still be a loser in my eyes.

If you want to call anyone out call out Tim Cook for his spell check.
Melo should get a say in the coaching decision. Most good organizations are on the same page and communicate. This is not rocket science.
Melo loved Mike Woodson. Result? One good year, and the next year lottery.

To be fair the next year Tyson missed half the season and they had traded for Bargnani and lost Kidd. The team was old and imploded. To blame Melo is something only an ignorant person on the internet... oh, I see... carry on.

Melo's basketball decision making means someone like Winslow, Mudiay or the pick is traded for a veteran instead of Porzingis. He didn't want NY to draft Porzingis. This is someone you want to trust to pick coaches?
Teams that let the inmates run the asylum rarely if ever succeed.

Letting him communicate input on the decision and letting him make the decision are two different things.

Also, that was the Chris Smith year. Grunwald was fired, Woodson had no say in who made the team, JR was ridiculous and management allowed it, Woodson couldn't keep a big on the roster as the 15th man, he was forced to play KMart and Amare every other game for 10 minutes, Shump was screaming at Woodson in games, Tyson was trying to get Woodson fired, management would not trade for Kyle Lowry etc. all of the high character vets were gone and Tyson showed he wasn't the locker room guy he had been portrayed to be.

He's clearly stated what he wants. Knicks to go after Rondo. Go after Thibs. It's no surprise or big secret what he would want. Just like it wasn't a surprise last year when he wanted someone other than Porzingis drafted. I thought Porzingis playing the way he did would shut people up on pushing Melo's agenda, but I guess not. Melo is in it for Melo. He could careless about the longterm growth of the franchise. He would love nothing more than to win 45-50 games on teams well over the cap with veteran players on max deals in decline. Whatever one wants to say about Phil, he's not looking to screw up the longterm for short term gain.

So is Rambis is a long term move? It sounds like most of the team is not buying into Rambis at this point, especially the vets. Asking for there to be a process where other guys are interviewed to be the coach was what was first reported. Saying he would love to have some input is a nice way of saying no to Kurt without saying it in my opinion. I think there are better coaches out there than Rambis. I don't think the guys on the team like Rambis as the head coach. Rambis isn't winning but Phil still would like to put him in place as the head according to some reports. I think this is being proactive. I think Phil signs who he wants in free agency. I think he should take a look at other candidates for the coaching position.

Blah blah blah Porzingis. Great point. So he favored some other picks because KP was more of unknown. How dare he! Cuz everybody else in New York wanted KP? Boo hop. And "Agenda"? You make no sense. Making shit up to piss yourself off. You clearly have not seen a game this year. Passing way up. Getting others involved. And mentoring your boy. You and Chuck should get a room. Lmao
