I wonder why Lillard isn't closer to Curry considering he is more athletic or a guy like Kyrie doesn't have the all around game like Curry.I think Kyrie can probably get close scoring wise if he can stay healthy but will he buckle down and become more of a team player. He will never be the sniper Curry is but I think he can get back to near 40% from three.
Curry works harder than anyone. His off-season training routines are insane. Dribble drills. Shooting drills. Stamina drills. He probably trains harder than anyone in the league. His skills didn't just happen by accident, they were made through repetition.
The work harder thing is an easy out. It's really no way to prove this. It may be true but other guys could work as hard as them but it just does not relate to better on court play.
mreinman wrote:you are surprised? Curry's just don't happen every day. Once a century perhaps. Intangibles are off the charts.
Yes, and no. Curry is truly a freak of nature and those type of players are rare. Dude has the handle of young Chris Paul, the shooting accuracy of prime Nash, the toughness of Stockton, and the unconsciousness of Iverson.
Also, when looking at Nash, Paul, and Stockton their skills continues way past the normal prime. If Curry stays healthy he could have 10 more years of similar play.
I know Curry totally over shadowed them but, damn, I'd settle for a backcourt that's half as good as CJ McCollum and Lillard. Those guys need help but I will not be surprised if they make it past the second round next year.
tnt broadcast taking westbrook to task for indecisiveness... should i dish or should i shoot.
no, you should take only good shots.

still playing way better than durant tonight. Durant is missing something.
OKC gonna upset SA!! Wow!
For the first time I actually feel that Westbrook is better than durant
Yeah, he was tonight for sure.

if westbrook (and durant) are so great how the hell does that happen?
I always said and I will stick to it. Westbrook is NOT the type of player that I want. He is D. Rose pre-injury which is athletic and great until it counts and stupid sets in.
when you sic the two-time defensive player of the year on the highest usage player in the league, this is the result. you're right it is like rose being guarded by lebron a few years back: cut off the head of the snake. westbrook is unlikely to adapt. they may get swept but they will possibly get a game off the spurs.
and OKC up 3-2 with westbrook playing great!
i said it before the playoffs began and i'll say it again: if the spurs are to prevail then aldridge needs to tighten up his game. 6-21 is just unacceptable.

I'm going to get you on the Westbrook bandwagon one day. i know you are tempted to jump off Lowry's bandwagon. You should trade up

Westbrook is my favoriteist player in the whoooole world- I love his game, his interviews, I would love for him to be a knick!
A lot of suspect calls in the game. Very poor refing in the Spurs-Thunder game.
did anyone catch Kenny, Chuck, and Dwight after the game? SOme interesting stuff. Dwight and Chuck both saying that OKC would have to play big (Adams and Kanter at the same time on the floor) to beat OKC; that trying to play small ball against them would be doomed. Instead they'd have to out rebound GS, and punish them in the paint to get their guys in foul trouble. Was music to my ears.
Chuck and Kenny also had some very interesting comments about today's NBA and scoring versus yesteryear, reminding everyone MJ averaged 38/game one year when you were essentially allowed to mug the opponent on defense.
I have not been a Dwight fan since his Orlando days, but I was really impressed at how articulate he was and the way he handled himself.
CJ McCollum is all heart. Reminds me of Starks, but with a better jumper.

I don't lock into players and get stuck in a position. That's stupid and for people who are in denial.
If you are facts and data based then you can jump on and off a wagon in a heartbeat as long as there is a large enough sample size.
Lowry played better last night but still not as efficient as he needs to be.
Corey Joseph on the other hand just makes me angry to watch ....

But he wanted to be home and would not have wanted to be a starter or so I've heard.
So what they passed on a 24 y/o talent to keep Calderon and pick up Seraphin. It was Smart to add a veteran like AA to the team. Yeah, Yeah, it was smart. It was smart.
just a horrible shot attempt by aldridge there.
and now aldridge with the crappy defensive play on westbrook. god almighty
adams continues dominating. truly a playoff player.
great idea by popovich bringing in bojanovic for rebounding and defense instead of diaw.
looks like the game is over as of halftime.
the torch has been passed. god bless duncan ginobili and popovich. congrats to okc and donovan.
