Really reckless of Phil to be running a Triangle workshop instead of at least reaching out to the best coach available.

Wow! In come places this is actually a good thing he is doing. Somehow implying negligence is comical.

65-164

That's Kurt Rambis' coaching record. Hiring him without interviewing a single legitimate candidate is complete and utter negligence.

i think the only reason rambis would be coach would be because he would run what phil wants him to run. Other coaches probably want more freedom

while thibs is a great coach, he never won anything, he never even made a finals appearance. why is a guy who never won anything being given full control of a franchise?

Neither did Flip. Neither did a lot of guys. Thibs reputation is a tireless worker and they don't see things like other people. Type A over achievers don't relate well to others in an organization so its not a bad idea to let him mold the team as he sees fit. I doubt he and PHil would get along unless Thibs were to be a disciple of the triangle and really really really get behind it 2000%. I speak only from reading phils books to understand that he is not exactly easy to work with/for either.

Thibs said he wanted to be in NY but did he specify Nets or Knicks?? I assume knicks. Personally IM ok with promoting from within so if Rambis gets the gig, Im ok with it.

Cute how so many people here are saying Sota is building a dynasty. They have a very talented young squad. Reminds me a bit of a young team that had Alonzo, Larry Johnson, Gill, Mugsy... it was a sure thing that squad was going to be competing for a title

The Wiz a few years ago could not move forward with a very very young team. Its not easy.
This group in Minny ON PAPER has some great blue chips. I say Lavine should be traded. Keep Rubio. They need a glue guy with veteran leadership. "Iggy", "DLee", guys that are ok coming off the bench and can keep a locker room together. The young guys need leadership before they assume that role.

Was going to say the same thing about Flip.

Having dual titles does put the person in question under a rather strong spotlight. Cuts out the "middleman," but you don't have any excuses if you F'up.

Thibs must have made quite a presentation. Wonder if JVG wanted similar authority?
