I'm gonna say you get a whole lot of...."rather him than Rambis" posts.

Who says Phil needs Melo's ok?? Phil doesn't care if Melo doesn't like it cause Phil would rather Melo waive his NTC and this could help that to happen.

I have not followed his career or his time in Cleveland carefully so I have no idea how he is at the non-coaching parts of coaching, managing other coaches/players/trainers/owners/media/etc. However, he's been doing it for a while and the coach part of coaching is the most important so, yes, hire his ass.

I am curious as to what decisions you think Phil has made that he got Melo's ok for.

kevin Love did not like rambis, they bump heads like crazy, and thats one of the many reason he was let go. Phil is fortunate to have drafted some very high character rookies and signed some high character vets, because there would have been a lot more said about rambis.
There's 3 thing Rambis should never have anything to do with
1)Game plan
2)rotations
3)and developement
His job is teaching the triangle, that's it. When that's not working you have a real experience head coach who knows who to play, when to play, how to play, and what they should play giving the circumstances.
He doesn't have the luxury of putting the ball in a proven leaders hand (kobe and jordan) who can control the floor and game when things get stale, and predictive.
High character vets like Afflalo and Derrick Williams?
Always believe that smart people with integrity tend to stick together and compliment each other for the success of common goals.
So deferentially big "Yes"

Everybody who voices their opinion is not a bad guy.
How would you fill if you got demoted for sasha, and the team was still losing, are you suppose to smile and say "Great Job coach"
Or being a DnP after a game where you basically help win, and you know you can help every game.

first of all dolan is involved and second of all, if melo is not happy and he still does not waive his NTC then he can just go back to sulking and being a super chucker black hole.

I have only read speculation that Dolan might get involved if Melo was unhappy (from Isola?). Also, he seems to be taking a hands off approach and giving Phil autonomy as he said he would. I think this is Phil's call but if there is information that indicates it isn't I missed it but would love a link so I can read it. Dolan's band is opening their european tour in Ireland on Saturday for what its worth.

Torre as Manager hire by the Yankees was panned by the media and fans for his lackluster tenure in previous stops.
Then he succeeded. The right man at the right time with a great roster.

You assume 100% correlation as if they are one and the same. I'd wonder if both Love and Rambis look back on the situation what they would say from it?
When I was younger I was working on a repair on a piece of equipment that ran on 220volts. While not a full dose, I got thrown by the charge and it not pleasant. Now, I personally shut down the breaker. See, I learned from it and vowed to not repeat my mistake. Not a hard concept to understand.
Don't forget Bill Bradley went to princeton as well!! Blatt has 5 letters in his name. So Does Mills!! The both like drinking water.
All adds up!!!

so exception is the rule? And baseball ain't basketball and there is no triangle in baseball.

Yes you are correct. Blatt has the "Lebron, fired me!" baggage that wears him down. The media and fans do support Blatt over Rambis however, so that is different. I also like Blatt's BB mind to Torre in a sense that even though he had not won before, Torre was still considered a good Baseball guy when hired.
Ultimately, I hope that Blatt wins 5 rings with the Knicks like Joe did with the Yankees.
