I get your point, Biyombo is not going to get no outrageous offers off of no decent playoff run, and i trust phil (as he has shown outside of melo) that he won't break the bank for no one.
He may say sign a similar deal to AA and Dwill, No ones really signing role players like him for more than 2 or 3 yrs. with Cap set to explode even higher next season, you could expect a lot of player options.
Seraphin still thinks he's better then he is, he's concern with his offense more than his defense and rebounding.
Hes going to get 8-12mm you guys are on ludes.
No effing way he gets that much. Any one who pays him that, will have a team option. Im telling you, Gm's are not that stupid and desperate anymore. .
nixluva wrote:Phil is probably going to be able to get a guy who does the grunt work but also can contribute in other ways. He won't have to overpay for that either. The Knicks aren't working guys out just for show. So far Phil has been pretty aggressive in adding multiple picks each draft and taking a look at UDFA's. He's most likely going to continue to look for value in those areas.
Yea h but he is also thinking about galloway, early, travis wear, KOQ Amondson, players who have been some what disappointing.
There isn't one guy on last yrs SL squad that we waived, that turned into a bad move.
I think phil is going to look for more veterans guys of at least 3 to 4 yrs of NBA experience. He has already shown that we every one he's signed in the past, and he if you don't have 3 to 4 yrs of college, he aint messing with you..
Phil has to be going into this off season thinking he has to build a 45 to 50 win roster, nothing less. You will not do that relying on young end-of-the-draft type players. I'm not saying it's totally out of the question, but it's hard to bank on it
I'm totally sold on Denzel Valentine but he's been drifting upwards in most mock drafts. It seems likely at this point that he's a lottery guy now. We _might_ be able to pick up a pick toward the bottom of this draft but I don't see what we have to trade to Valentine. Maybe, maybe, maybe if he falls to the bottom, it's worth a last minute deal but . . .

A guy who rebounds, block shots and defendsCenter Bismack Biyombo, a breakout star in the postseason, is expected to decline his player option and also become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Ujiri conceded that re-signing both Biyombo and DeRozan might not be possible."But honestly, it's our jobs. We have to figure it out," he said
This is the type of player that KP and melo needs around them, dirty work rodman types.
I've been saying for months that we need a true big man that can come in for Rolo and rebound and play defense and of course Biyombo does all that but there's no way that Phil would or even should spend the kind of money it's gonna take to get Biyombo. He needs to get a big man that can do those things but for a much better contract than what Biyombo is gonna get so we can have money to spend at our biggest needed positions which we all know is guards and even another SF which i'm hoping will be either L.Thomas or D.Williams or even better both of them.
At that better price, they need to turn O'Quinn loose!

Yeah we wont know this one until the draft. My best bet is that hes long gone assuming pick 20-30
Id use a pick on
Denzel Valentine
Thon Maker
Malik Beasley
2nd rd where we might be able to get two very high 2's by using a future 1 with high restriction--say #1 top 19 protected. That would have to be for 31-38
Cat Barber
A J Hammons
Bryn Forbes
38--50 buy the pick and or add future 2
Michael Gbinjie
Ben Bentil
Derrick Jones
Patric McCaw
Kay Felder
Under 50 to undrafted--well theres still many good names.

Based on last year's off season the lie detector determined that was a lie!
EnySpree wrote:Camby is possibly going to be a hall of famer. He was more than just an energy guy. I do get that we could use a couple more guys that get after it, that actually know the game and fuck shit up. O'Quinn is not that guy. Seraphim could be if he shows up in shape. We got Hernangomez coming next year too so that's good. Possibly Jordan bachynski or even Joakim Noah.....Not really a hard thing to fill. We don't need to invest big money on that.
When Camby rehab for two seasons and came back healthy C-Camby & PG-Watkins took rookie Melo scoring to the playoff
For some reason i like the tandem of Rolo n Quinn hustle in the same lineup, a big-man hustle tandem lineup of Rolo/Quinn we didnt get a chance to see in any of our 82 games this season, because management / owner wanted veteran Rolo on the court to tutor / protect a 19 yr old immigrant rookie Porzingis.
Why didnt we do the same with veteran Lance Thomas n Grant in the same lineup????
We still have to address this part of the roster.
Like Noah? He is actually established as an ultimate glue guy unlike Robin & Biyombo.
We need a glue backup PG now

I think Noah and Lee kind of fit here. Lance to if we resign him.

That would be great.
Got all the glue guys covered.
Star Glue guy - Noah
Role player glue guy - Lance
Back up PG glue guy - Chalmers?
Maurice N'Dour c'mon down!

Yeah, we have a lot of potential glue guys on this team:
Noah is the ultimate, call him Captain Glue.
Courtney Lee is Super Glue
Lance Thomas is Elmer's Glue
Mo N'Dour is our Glue Stick off the bench

This is a very underrated part of this roster Phil put together. Guys with the right intangibles that lead to winning and good team culture. You keep adding those kinds of players and eventually you have something special.

What about the glue we were all sniffing when we thought Wroten belonged in the NBA?

At least as Knicks fans, we are keeping hope alive! Phil has brought that to us.

LOL - that was some prediction there.
I figure it comes down to one of these two guys:
