Knicks · Jackson: Rambis might, sort of, maybe . . . be an assistant (page 1)

Phil Jackson says on SNY that Kurt Rambis "fits in a number of ways" as a potential assistant coach on Jeff Hornacek's staff. Hornacek has not yet decided whether to add Rambis, the Knicks interim coach last season, to his staff.
Jackson is losing it. No idea what's going on with him . . .

Like Jackson didn't think this through already (?)
SMH . . . for sure.

You don't think that is a spin that he gave to his buddy when he hired Jeff?

I don't know what to think . . . any more.

So you're just imagining stuff as you go along (?)

Yeah, pretty much . . .

Phil wants him but he doesn't want to force Jeff's hand

Sounds like he's trying to talk Hornacek into keeping him on. I don't mind Rambis as an assistant. I just don't think he has the vision or personality to be a head coach.
Malcolm, I'm not sure why you're so upset. The Triangle would've failed under Rambis at head coach. With Hornacek, it has a chance to adapt and survive. Darwinism.

My girlfriend left me . . . my dog died . . . and now there's no Triangle to look forward to next season.
I'm going to miss the girlfriend and the dog . . . but no Triangle is a real bummer.

I predict it'll be pretty Triangular. And also pretty successful if we can get a few good guards.

I'm shocked that anyone would not see this as a VERY GOOD THING for the Triangle and mostly the team. I've been saying all along that it would be easy to tweak the Triangle in order to make it more 3pt friendly and now Phil has brought in the right man to make that happen. This is the best thing for everyone.

It's a lot worse than that for the Triangle now . . .

Rambis@ 1:40, guess we need an engine.

Berman has an update on the Knicks coaching staff.
eff Hornacek’s coaching staff is shaping up. After Kurt Rambis, who may coach summer league, Hornacek will bring in former Phoenix assistants Jerry Sichting and Corey Gaines. Hornacek will retain Josh Longstaff, who recently came back from Latvia to work with Porzingis and is expected to head to Los Angeles later in the summer on Rose duty. Jim Cleamons, despite his triangle knowhow, Brian Keefe and Rasheed Hazzard won’t return.
