I just can't cry about the lost pick at this point. It's been so long at this point I just don't think about it anymore. As long as Phil does the best he can I can live with it. This draft is so weak at the top that it almost doesn't matter. Seems like very little difference between most of these prospects.

It's gonna still be interesting to see what Phil has worked out to get a pick and who they end up drafting.

im not crying but its simply a fact, nothing wrong with pointing it out. Im still looking forward to what we do this week. Phil has a good approach to the draft the past few years which i like

No use crying over spilled milk. I'm hoping they can secure a couple of 2nd rounders to stockpile athletic depth.

again not crying. In fact i was pretty positive in the next sentence. I said phil values the draft and works hard to get picks which i like

This is pretty exciting. Hopefully there is something in the works more than hoping a late second rounder becomes available.

The one thing I don't want to do is trade a future 1 for Richardson

Have they worked him out? I like Richardson but he is very young.

that would be nice. Either a late 1st or early 2nd would be a decent haul

With the talent level for this draft I wonder if late 1st rounders will be more available because of the salary commitment that goes along with a first round pick.

Yeah whatever the reason a team is willing to deal us a pick i'll take it. I can imagine that a lot of GM's don't want to load up their cap with guys that aren't going to likely be star players. It seems like Phil is pretty confident they have the means to get a pick or 2 so this should be fun.

AA hasn't opted out yet.... Maybe the Knicks could send him to a team?

Yup. The only way we buy a 1st rounder is by sending them ending contracts for the cap.

I must be missing something if the team turns out to be Chicago and the trade target Derrick Rose -- Rose is an expiring contract himself, right? Why deal him for Afflalo (if he opts in--otherwise why take him back in a S&T on a new deal? They have good pieces at that position already -- Butler, Snell, Dinwiddie), KOQ who's not an expiring contract (I'd welcome this with open arms but WTH does CHI need KOQ for with guys like Gibson, Mirotic, Portis??) and whatever else we could give them?? And then they're gonna give us a pick for taking him? I don't get it...If I'm a Chicago fan and my team dealt Rose for garbage as well as surrendering a 1st round pick to boot, I'd be mad as hell. I see no reason for Chicago to deal Rose for such a subpar package like that and to deal him so soon as well. Why not wait it out with him, see if his health and gameplay improves, then look to move him during the season/by the deadline for something much better than what the Knicks can offer? Or maybe resign him and resume building around him??

I wonder if that means they might take back a contract as well?

I do feel they have something unexpected planned out to get into the first. The whole lets have a viewing party for the media during the draft leads me to believe they expect to have to answer questions to the press for whatever happens on Thursday.

Right, I agree. You would think something's up...It's intriguing. Can't wait to see what uncle Phil has planned.

That Clippers pick at #25 makes a lot of sense too. Only the Cav's and Clippers are over the cap to the point they likely couldn't outright sign AA using cap space. They have a collection of contracts that would fit either as a package or together to make the trade work depending on what the Clippers or knicks want to do (including a few expiring). Also AA has sent a few subliminal messages all season he wants to go back to LA.

If they could get Jamal Crawford to act as a one year stop gap or even Austin Rivers (who could start in NY) it would be a pretty great haul
