Phil has proven thus far that he's a smart spender. The trend should continue

Last year nobody wanted to come to a team that win 17 games especially after drafting that European bust kristaps....

Since the Knicks made an improvement after mediocre additions and that European bust they drafted almost won the rookie of the year....

They actually have a better shot than last year. Players, agents and media are just as ignorant as fans.... they say the Knicks suck so nobody is signing there.

The tone now is, wait watch out. The Knicks have something growing there... I might want to be a part of that.

True.but dwill and afflalo opting out of a suppose good situation, with kp and melo..doesn't say much..but we shall see in the coming days.

DWill with the cap increase would be crazy not to opt out. He only made 4 mil last year. He probably jumps to 10 mil with multiple years. Afflalo wasn't happy in his situation and may get paid more.

I look at it Like we lost 2 bench players and got 30 million to replace them....

If we signed Rondo, Evan Turner and say Eric Gordon... did we get better? Yes we did. Add 2-3 of your favorite free agents and boom.

For the LIFE OF ME I can't understand how anyone could find a negative out of this team having $30 mil to spend on better players!!! It was part of the plan to look to build up the team last summer so that THIS SUMMER there would at least be a positive, improving situation going on with this team. Establishing Melo, KP and RoLo was important. That was the point and so this summer the Free Agents can see that there is something developing with the Knicks. Much easier to pinpoint starting PG and SG's and make the sale to them that this is a great spot to land.

Then Phil went and hired Hornacek which should add even more of a positive impression of what is going on in NY. This totally changes the way players view what this team will be like next year and in years to come. So yes we should be excited about having a nice amount of cash available this summer.

Much more to spend than we expected...in a year where we have no draft pick, the extra money is important.

Think about being near the cap limit with no picks.

Could things be better...of course, but things could also be a lot worse, and if used wisely, the money can help.

Best case scenario and worst case scenario the Knicks still will get better spending 30 million this summer.
