Knicks · chill the phuck out (page 1)
The Rose trade is a big move. I really liked Grant and figured he would take a big step forward under Jeff. A little perspective though, Phil was open and honest that Jeff would have roster input. So Rose isn't coming in here if Jeff doesn't want him. Calling the "anyone but Rambis crowd..." still feeling that Jeff glee knowing that Derrick Rose is a guy he wants to start his Knick coaching career?

So happy humpday to everyone! So glad the work day is over. Cheers to all the Knick fans out there (except TFK.. phuck him). I just grabbed my 2nd Hoegaarden. Damn these are good. In any case being that today is Wednesday, guess what tomorrow is? Bang! (in my best Mike Breen voice). The NBA draft on THURSDAY. Man... all eyes point the Knicks! The team with no picks hosting media! Maybe its just so Phil can say "I hope you enjoyed the complimentary hot dogs" after the Knick do nothing ![]()

But darn it if the Knicks arent going to buy a couple #2s right?
Remember this? Traded by the Seattle SuperSonics with Glen Davis to the Boston Celtics for Jeff Green, Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and a 2008 2nd round draft pick (Trent Plaisted was later selected). (Ray Allen to Celtics trade for the stoners)
Everyone was like AINGE IS THE BIGGEST IDIOT EVER!!!!!!!!!!! In sky writing and spray paint! A bunch of good young players for a 32 year old SG, when you already have Paul Pierce and the team stinks anyway! God he was stupid! Then there was this follow up move and they won a... never mind. Perception changed. Quickly.
Hey! Tomorrow is the draft!
Knicks have $30+ mill in cap space. There will be at least one prospect joining in Willy. JRUe's brother has a chance to stick. Phil is expected to be involved in something tomorrow night, whether it involves trades or buying picks or whatever.
Oh.. and at some point Jeff gave his stamp of approval on this trade and this player... just a little perspective. Actually... on that... if perspective is your thing check this out (grab yourself a tasty beverage and have a read) http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopi...

This is NOT a move that Phil likely makes if he was stuck on his past direction. This is Hornacek's vision for the team being expressed. That to me is a very good thing for the present and future.why? What has Jeff done that demonstrates any kind of history of having a great vision? Oh yea... its you. He signed with the Knicks

Ray Allen was an iron-horse and rarely missed games. You knew he'd decline but that it'd be gradual and predictable because of his conditioning and health. The Celtics certainly paid a higher premium for him than we did Rose but they were simultaneously working on luring KG to Boston as well. And given the robust assets they had (and have always seemed to have), KG was feasible.
But let's be real, Rose is currently not the talent Allen was and there is no KG for us to trade for. I get you're trying to be optimistic but I simply don't see the parrallel's. Sorry for shitting on your hope though, lol.

And context.... you have no context yet. When FA is over and we know the roster then you can get a whole picture.. and lets be fair, last time you blasted Phil for a big move you were pretty much on full tilt and that worked out ok for you.
But you chose to focus on a small point.. and that point wasnt even the Ray Allen trade, rather the reaction, but you are right. There are not KGs or any other good players and we are doomed and Rose proves that. Fair?
Phil admitted he stayed too far away, he admitted by hiring Hornacek, that Rambis was not "fine".
You guys need to chill, some of us have been more right about Phil's moves than you have.

you are not justifying getting rid of lopez for nothing. Rose has zero market value and lopez had very high trade value.
people keep saying that we got the best player in the trade but that is because they don't have a clue what Rose actually is as a player today.
maybe he will return to form? well maybe calderon becomes ricky rubio with jose's shooting.

I liked the hire but I hate this move ... unless I'm missing something. See? It does not have to be the party line all the time. You can like a move if you think it is a good one and not like one etc ...
You still have not made any sense of this move and neither have I.
It does seem like Phil is going all in. Will he sign Noah? Horford? Shiver... Dwight?
It'll be interesting.

This has nothing to do with the party line.. Im not nix. I mean the first move with the new coach's input is an epic failure, which by the way I find it interesting that only Knick fans feel that way. I dont like the trade myself, not one bit but I have no clue what the big picture or plan or long term plan is.
