Perhaps part of the thinking the knicks had with moving Lopez had to do with their belief that Hernangomez comes in and contributes a good 15-20 mins per game at center? Then majority of the other center minutes get played by Porzingis? In that case, they don't necessarily need a Howard or Whiteside and instead look for a middle of the pack center for depth. Even KO can play a little center as well. Ps, I do like the idea of signing Evan Turner to play sg / sf. That would help with our perimter d.

That could be the move. They could be targeting Noah or Pau Gasol to play limited minutes at the 5 as well, bu right now the organization has ties to 4 Centers who can play a few minutes a game.
