There will be a lot of fallout. We're complaining about not getting barber and ferrell but isn't the point that by standing pat, Phil still had the chance to get them as udfa? There's some reason they didn't like him. Teams like Phoenix, Denver and celts are going to have problems now. Too many new players, not enough spots or minutes.
Sure it would have been fun to see some new faces but let's calibrate expectations.

Where's sterling Gibbs. Isn't he one of those shooter-types we were interested in?
Second rounders are little more than right of first refusal. The D-League will be full up with most of them soon.
Lousy draft. Boring and the players selected even in the first round sounded like projects from the Island of Misfit Toys.
I do think teams like Boston [Ainge is delusional] will be shedding some quite useful bench players we can tap into. Meanwhile our own D-Leagers and Summer leaguers will provide interest enough.
And who knows who Gaines might be recommending under the radar.
Celts had 8 picks and will be lucky to get one starter next year (and honestly perhaps ever)
They have not had a particularly good run w all the picks they have compiled over the past several years.

its true.. good assets, poor execution. They just have a ton of young guys with no playing time. This was a 2 man draft with some nice complimentary players just below. I was not impressed with this draft at all.

Wow. Unreal. Good job, Phil.
An even sadder thing for our SL team...Hernangomez will be with the Spanish Olympic team-I read that he would not be in Orlando.

Jesus...Why???
I mean what's going on here? We make this move for Derrick Rose, then completely take our foot off the gas pedal.
Brannen Green and Wayne Selden are both still available I believe. Both guys worked out for the Knicks.

Really? Cmon man....stop complaining just to complain and think about it. Training for Olympics vs Orlando Summer league. Yeah the Knicks are dropping the ball by not forcing him to come play in the Summer League.

You're genuinely asking why he's going to spend the summer representing his country on one of the best teams in the world, to play in the Olympics against the best teams in the world, rather than play 5 games against D-minus League teams in a gym in Orlando?

hahaha. exactly.
playing in the Olympics will be a great experience for him. Summer league is a joke - particularly for big men.

We don't get to see him, but I expect he gets more out of working with the Spanish Olympic team and beating up on Anthony in Rio.

I have a ~feeling~ the Knicks will be a little more active come July 1. Call it a hunch.
Look, we didn't have a pick - sometimes you can make something happen when you don't have a pick... sometimes you can't.

And not just in the Olympics.. I assume they'll be a warm-up tournament too.
He'll play in a lot more games against much better competition, not to mention a competition that not only actually means something, but means a lot.
I get people want to see new toys in SL, but to argue this is a negative for the Knicks or the player is really completely off the reservation.
