This summer is going to be insane.

The Knicks should sign Marshall Plumlee at least for the summer league team.

Excellent idea
No way we match that. Thank god.
The nba gms are fucking retarded.... talk all you want about the cap going up, you still have to be pending responsibly. You can't just give a guy the max just because. Especially when they already have a healthy guy playing that position. That's just bad business and poor management

They can't help themselves. I predict we will see like ten-twenty truly absurd contracts and that will fuel a lock out next summer. The GMs have only themselves to blame.

WTF...well if he's your missing piece and everything else is in place.perhaps you make that deal, but even then, this dude is soooooo injury prone, that I would put a slew of incentives like Anthony Davis..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Noah for $120m?!!? GTFOH
This will get nasty quickly if that's what can be expected starting July.
It's just funny. It's like the Bucks situation. They wanted to beat us for Greg Monroe and made him their shiny acquisition with a big contract.
Now?
They can't wait to get rid of him and his long contract.
Sometimes, it seems like they think they are playing with Monopoly money.

Yep. Or they expect guys to "live up to their deal" - like if they overpay the player will over perform, instead of just doing what he's always done. Not the players' faults for taking these deals. I wouldn't say no to $120m. I'd take it and take the beating in the press for a few years and know my family was set for generations to come.
Makes you wish we had some way of getting a decent center on, say 12 million or so a year.

I HONESTLY DONT THINK HE IS OUR MISSING PIECE OR WASHINGTONS , AND ESPECIALLY NOT AT 30 MILL A YEAR LOL
sorry about the caps
I just don't believe it. He's not a 2-way player.
They could offer Howard or Whiteside similar money and it would make more sense.

Honestly, I'd rather have the potential of Rose. Much higher ceiling. If he flames out, we have our own pick in a stacked 2017 draft.
To me, Rolo is the type of player who locks you into being decent, but not really good enough to contend and not really bad enough to bottom out.

Fair enough. Though you and I obviously disagree in our assessments of Lopez. I doubt we'll be able to get that kind of value in terms of production:dollar with the new cap, though.

But, yes, to your point - Rolo's contract is going to look insanely cheap in about two weeks.
I just didn't love the way he and KP played together. I think teams figured out how to play the two of them. I didn't see it working going forward. Maybe I'm wrong...
But, yes, you are absolutely right that we will have a hard time replacing Rolo's production at anywhere near $13M a year.

And if Rose has a good year with us, he will be asking for more than Noah.
Totally ridiculous contract for Noah, and Washington already has Gortat with 3 more years on his contract at a lower amount than the Lopez contract.
Wow
Might not be a bad idea to wait to see if this actually occurs...
Just sayin'.
