Knicks · What if Durant signs with the Knicks? (page 2)
TheGardenFaithful wrote:Also didn't Durant say a couple of years ago that he wasn't the biggest fan of really busy city's like NY and that he didn't feel that you had to be in a major market theses days to sell your "brand".I think even if he had the slightest bit of interest in coming here he would of named NY as one of the 5 teams that he's willing to meet with.
He did indeed say that. He ain't comin here, which is fine. We'll find another way.

Go another 8 miles west and its flat our rural. So if you want peace and quiet and you commute to NYC you can have that. If you like lakes you can live on one. If you like beaches you can live on one. If you like city you can live in any neighborhood you want. If you like mountains we have those. If you have the kind of money he will be making there is nothing in the area you cant find.TheGardenFaithful wrote:Also didn't Durant say a couple of years ago that he wasn't the biggest fan of really busy city's like NY and that he didn't feel that you had to be in a major market theses days to sell your "brand".I think even if he had the slightest bit of interest in coming here he would of named NY as one of the 5 teams that he's willing to meet with.

There are few places that are better to play than MSG, and everyone in the league knows it. If playing in front of loud sell out crowds every night isn't for you than move along... we have other targets.
rose has questionable character issues as well. if he doesn't toe the line the knicks will underachieve next season, ie end up below .500. luckily it's a one-year deal. the knicks are not getting anywhere near sniffing distance to a title run next season anyway.
durant coming to msg is another story entirely but if he did it would be either bye-bye melo or bench melo.

a mansion in Westchester does not suck. A penthouse in the sky does not either. He can have both, chill after a game back at his crib, or at the estate.
BTW, it don't matter what any of these guys say, its what they do. I see ni reason why Roc Nation would even notify which teams are on the schedule or not. If IM the knicks, I nearly insist to not make it public knowledge for everybody's sake. Fans get all pissy about phil sleeping on the job then we learn he didn't.
Durant seems to be a fairly private kind of guy. Nice thing about NY is there are lots of super cool stars here and while 6-11 dudes don't really "get lost in the crowd", its not like people go ape shyt crazy over seeing a famous person out.
Media will get on his shyt if he is a bomb, but if you do good here, your gonna be all right!

All valid points, I take on his comments were that he didn't want to deal with the NY media.
He's being part of a winning culture in OKC but still had his run ins with the media, NY media as we know is 100x worse than most city's in terms of sports and will turn on the best of players following a few losses.

By golly, I remember how fond Ewing was of the NYC media. I wonder why he didn't leave immediately after his first contract and years of not getting out of the early rounds of the playoffs?
KD's agency is based here.
KD sits and watches summer league games here.
KD and Melo on the Olympic team together...again.
KD and Westbrook, I wonder if he dislikes Mr. Triple Double as much as he hates the NYC media?
Is it me, or is KP the type of non-bs, hardworking, respectful teammate KD could immediately click with? Team love anyone?
How many more jersey's will the man sell if he's playing home court games in MSG?
Build the brand? The homey college town thing might possibly be getting old now.

NY is the place for players who do not give a rat a..sss about what media and fans screaming about.
For players like KP who takes all this sht as motivation.
Non sure if KD is this kind of player. Most likely he is not.

For any player that dislikes media scrutiny, NY ain't the right place. KD is one of those types.
