I like his game - not sure if I think he'd be a good fit with DRose now though.
This guy thinks he's better than he is. He had the one really good yr, (contract yr) and has been less than avg ever since
If I have no interest in Howard why would I have interest in Lance? The guy is a walking red flag.

Because he might give them a hometown discount and they need players to come on a deal. He is also good enough of a ball handler and defender to play along Rose in the setup the Hornecek likes. Also if they put him on the knicks that's just one more guy who wants to beat Lebron James skull in on their way to a title run.
In fact honestly he might be the best option for 2 guard out there for what the knicks need right now. I say all that and I am not even a Lance fan. If you check my history here I've been against getting him before...... but things change.
Lance is a classic PJax reclamation project. Except not as crazy nor as talented. But, if you asked me if I wanted Crawford or Stephenson as my 6th man, I'd likely go with Stephenson.
Knicks do need talent. If he didn't mind coming off the bench we could do worse. I just wish he wasn't so off kilter.

Lance at 9 mil with the cap as high as it is seems like a very reasonable deal. He played well in Memphis. They are going to have pay a ton to keep Conley but Lance seems like a bargain worth keeping for the cost.

He should be used to coming off the bench by now. We need depth and he's a guy who can spot minutes at 1 and swing over to the three when needed. And he can defend at a spot where we're lacking defense.
I like the idea of Lance a lot - but he's not a great shooter. We'd need to pair him with more shooting. I also don't know how I feel about pairing him with Rose in the starting lineup.
But, say we did sign him to come off the bench - how's this look for a potential small ball look to go to late in games:

Yeah there are going to a myriad of options to put a roster together. It's really a good position that the Knicks are in once you get past the idea of chasing Durant. People aren't paying enough attention to all the other players the Knicks could get.
He killed the Spurs in the playoffs.
Has he grown up enough to come back to his home town and face all the distractions, pitfalls, and temptations he will face here?
You saw something good developing in Hoosier country...and he's never progressed in the way most players on the rise would progress.
Just don't know if Phil would take the chance.
we need to pick him up asap,

and...lebron hates his guts
all those are good reasons
