I can't stress how good a call adding Christian Wood would've been. Can't understand how any Knick fan on here would've been against it. The kid's 6'11" with discernible (I'd even say 'improved') skills on both ends of the floor and he actually looked bulkier/stronger from what I remember of him last year in the DL. Shit, man--only 20 years old too. With no draft pick this year, Briggs is 100% right--this kid would've been perfect. Ahh, what are ya gonna do.. Opportunity lost but hey, at least we didn't get Drew Gooden, right? What the hell was that has-been supposed to add? In the end, we chose to add Mo N'Dour--here's a young, skilled two-way player that's very intriguing in his own right. Excited about the N'Dour signing and for a second crack at him--let's hope he's healthy and see if our original vision on him was correct.

Now all we need is another PG for some more depth. I'd like to see us be aggressive and fill the spot now rather than opt for the 'leave the last spot open' routine. For the money we're talking at this point, be aggressive and target the best PG available -- said player could always be waived later if need be. Still think Spencer Dinwiddie might be the best choice -- young, heady, big 6'6", enough skill/size to play both backcourt spots. I'm hoping for at least a training camp invite for Dinwiddie. I gotta believe he'd have a better chance to make our roster than Chicago's (they simply have more PG depth right now/more guard depth in general). If given a choice, I hope Dinwiddie sees it that way and would pick us. Phil's gotta offer him a spot, though.

I wonder if the Nets try to get Westbrook now.

Read an article (cant remember where) that made a good case for Westbrook not getting traded. They might hope that the team does well enough without Durant to want to make him stay. He's got a good thing in OKC, and all that cap room freed up from Durant not reupping can be used to add a few quality players.

Will be dreaming of becoming the next Marbury, I suppose.

Waiters signed with the heat for 2.9 mil. I think that is a great deal for the Heat.

That is some expensive trio of guards...although I assume Crabbe will start at the 3.

Looks like they are another team trying to follow the GS model...no?

Except that fact that the Knicks weren't. User Google so that your posts don't make you look so foolish.

There is speculation that they will waive the kid that they signed from Westchester Community College last year. Also, David Lee to the Spurs.

Dame Lillard 5yr $120M

CJ McCollum 4yr $105M

Allen Crabbe 4yr $75M

Evan Turner 4yr $70M

Moe Harkless 4yr $40M

That's a lot of cheddar! But also a pretty damn good collection of guards... and also Moe Harkless...

if that is a fact they will become an epic fail. i don't think they are capable of shooting nearly as well from 3 collectively, and klay thompson is a far, far better defender than that trio. to win with the three ball the tipping point is about 42-43% by your majority 3-point shot takers. that will translate to a TS% of 58% or higher, also elite. no way that trio raise their collective 3 point percentage 5 percentage points.

but then again they have one of my faves in evan turner as an interior playmaker, who can create layups for big men and cutters, those cutters being lillard and mccollum.

Also, Lillard is very Wade like. Turner or Crabbe are the biggest risks for the money in my opinion.

David Lee signed with the Spurs. How much does our old All Star have in the tank?

SAN ANTONIO (August 2, 2016) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed forward-center David Lee. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

Lee, 6-9/245, is a two-time NBA All-Star (2010, 2013) who was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2013. An NBA Champion with Golden State in 2015, Lee has played 750 career games and holds averages of 14.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.4 minutes while shooting .533 (4,339-8,146) from the floor and .774 (1,977-2,553) from the free throw line.

The 11-year veteran finished last season with the Dallas Mavericks, where he averaged 8.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting .636 (91-143) from the floor in 17.3 minutes over 25 games. Lee started the year with the Boston Celtics and averaged 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30 appearances before being waived on Feb. 19.

Originally drafted by New York in the first round (30th overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft, the former Florida Gator spent his first five NBA seasons (2005-10) with the Knicks and averaged 13.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.1 minutes over 368 games. Lee was traded to Golden State following the 2009-10 season and would go on to average 16.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33.2 minutes over 327 appearances with the Warriors before being dealt to Boston on July 9, 2015.

Lee is one of just three players in the NBA to total at least 10,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 1,500 assists over the last 10 seasons, along with current Spur Pau Gasol and former San Antonio forward Tim Duncan.
