Knicks · Do the Knicks trade O'Quinn for cap space? (page 1)

I saw it suggested on twitter. They may not have the cap room to get one of the two guards that they want. O'Quinn's deal in this market has to be very valuable.

im down but who can these get for OQuinn?
meloanyk @ 7/2/2016 12:30 AM
Quinn plays fairly well when given mins and pretty crappy when not. He provides depth and some flexibilty at 4/5 and Seraphan may not be back. Unless he is, I wouldnt be in any rush to dump Quinn. Bench is slim as it is even with Hergomes aboard

It has to be worth either a restricted #1 or 2 2's.

I am not in a rush to dump him. I just saw it suggested on twitter because it appears the Knicks may not have the cap space needed to get a Lee or Gordon.

Not much evidence from last year that would make a team want to take on KOQ no matter how nice his contract might seem.

I think it is around 4 million.
dwiley20 @ 7/2/2016 1:01 AM
we need to keep him...with that low number....still have to fill out the roster with bums

He was in Latvia with KP. I think he is a good guy to have around but I think the Knicks team vision has changed.
tj23 @ 7/2/2016 1:16 AM
I wish we could dump him but unless a team has only a few mill cap left and needs a big badly I don't see it
PhilinLA @ 7/2/2016 1:37 AM
I'm sure he'd be easy to trade and get more picks for the pile.
WaltLongmire @ 7/2/2016 2:03 AM
He needs to work in the off season and come into camp and the regular season as if he's in a contract year.

Coming in 15-20 lbs. lighter with less body fat would be an indication that he has some pride and a sense of obligation to the team and his teammates.

We will see.

Get rid of KOQ, no way, as much depth as we need with these injury prone players on deck
EnySpree @ 7/2/2016 4:25 AM
O'Quinn doesn't do anything that can't be replaced.... if the Knicks need to they should dunno him. At the end of the off season there will be plenty of players ready to sign for the minimum.... Carlos Boozer says he's looking to come back and wants a minimum deal... I'd say that would pretty much cover everything Oquinn does
franco12 @ 7/2/2016 6:53 AM
If we're signing Noah to 4 years, $72m, it makes sense to trade the one big man on our squad that might actually be healthy all year.

While we're at it, trade KP too.
