As long as he doesn't sign a new contract with them then i don't really care but they would be a top team in the east with A.Horford, Westbrook at the SG spot and I.Thomas at PG but Isaiah might have to be in the trade.
The way I see it is that Klay will grow tired of Draymont Curry and Durant playing in front of him. He's a true star. I can see him traveling in 2017-2018. Phil and Melo would be gone by then and the team would be KP Klay and our # 1 plus our FA next year.
Bleacher Report Team Stream is reporting the Thunder will consider offers to trade Westbrook if he won't sign an extension.

Yeah, the key will be if Russ declines to sign an extension with the team trading for him...

Okc would be fools not to do a deal with the Celtics. Maybe lakers would consider Russell for Westbrook too

True - but the acquiring team is going to want assurances from Russ that he won't test FA next summer. The ball, to some extent, is still in Russ's court.

Russell is a star but now a proven 2 not a playmaker. I prefer Klay. He will only stay w GSW as a go to guy not the 4th guy in line. Let's see if he waits til 2017-2018 or demands to get out.
Crazy theory but interesting - Russ could go to San Antonio to team with LMa and Kawhi to torture KD for years to come. One reason I'm glad we have the option of seeing where Rose and Jennings are at. Russ to the Knicks is no given.

Absolutely love this.

Lakers could make a solid offer, too. Though the Lakers are a hot mess.
Boston with Horford? Westbrook has to at least think about that.
I hope he hits FA, because I could really see him coming to NYC.
Lakers are but they could get his bird rights in a trade. They have Russel and Ingram to dangle
We can't trade for Westbrook without including KP, so no thanks. I say roll the dice in free agency with him. Phil has actually put us in a great situation at the point guard spot with several options next season.

Can adding Westbrook bring ny a title? Is the chance of a title worth losing KP? Let's state it this way, if you knew you can win it all, but you have to sacrifice KP, would you do it?
Is Westbrook the missing piece is another discussion thread.....Just curious how much a championship run to breal a 40 yr drought is worth sacrificing your own.
The loud mouth S.A Smith was just on Mike and Mike and Greeny asked him if he would trade KP for Westbrook and he said he would. He's an idiot and this better not happen especially when we know we'll be one of the top teams he'll look at in 2017.
can we afford him under the cap? thanks to that stupid Noah signing, we probly can't afford him til next year when the cap goes up and rose comes off the books. amirite?

Yes and yes. We have to wait and pray to Allah, Buddah, and Vishnu next year barring Phil doing something stupid and resigning Rose.

Might have to trade one of the large contracts....with KP.
Rose
Melo
Noah
They take up 60+ million.....but Westbrook needs a similar salary to rose....but next year it works when the cap goes up. That's why we have to look legit now because everybody has cap room now. Winning and NYC is now our top recruiting sales pitch.....but we have to be a top eastern team to attract players like Westbrook next year.
Russell Westbrook is currently eligible through next June 30 to sign (an extension) for 30% of an $94m cap.
Next year he'll be eligible to sign a deal of his choosing for 30% of an estimated $110m cap.
Year after that he'll be eligible to sign for 35% of a no-less than an estimated $110m cap.
NBPA could opt out of the CBA after this year to try to regain back some of the 6% of revenue they gave to the owners from the last CBA.
Hard to imagine a scenario in which Westbrook signs an extension. For the same reason Durant just agreed to a 2-year 1+1 deal with a team set up to compete indefinitely.
Money.
what happens if Rose has a better or comparable year Westbrook?

We celebrate.

Even Rose's "prime" 2010 to 2012, his best season pales in comparison to Westbrooks last 2 seasons. Westbrook is a triple double machine, so even if his shot is off, he still does everything else at a higher level than everybody.
If Rose's shot is off, he doesn't do much else to impact the game like Russell does.
