Teams like the Celts....which imo that unless the execute a trade are marginal better than last year..I would prefer Love on their squad than Hoford....

Right now we are in the pack....if Rose is 80% .....Noah healthy and Melo and KP showing growth with a solid bench and our uptempo style triangle we can make a decent run....
I know this is a stretch moment comment.....but Melo plays great against LBJ...particularly if there is something to play for....if Rose is 80.... The Irving match we are not getting lit up like a Roman candle...KP can take Love....who is on Cavs bench....shump....dellie is gone....JR is JR...
I think we got.....with the caveat of health and team chemistry coming quickly the chops to do something....

Phil said it himself - the recruiting stuff was about next year not this year. KD has an opt out after one. But I agree with you that Melo probably knew that KD wasn't coming here and told Phil as much.
Heck, part of me wonders if Melo, with his experience of not getting over the hump, told KD to go for the GSW situation to get that ring?

tough to say. i suspect regardless of whether we made the Rose trade or stood pat with Rolo/Calderon/Grant that Bazemore was not leaving the Hawks to come to NY. No reason to.

I had no idea we'd be able to get Brandon Jennings for less than Lance Thomas... but I'll take it!
I do sort of think there's no way Jennings signed for that little if he didn't think he was joining a potentially very good team...

Where in those two sentences did I imply I knew what his other offers were?
5 mil for jennings with a good season raises his value next year. He jumped in a situation where he is backup and to a guy that will likely miss games if not for injury, just to rest.
Also, Hornacek has a good rep for guard play, with the triangle and some Zen, its a good situation. Rose bombs out, Westbrook gets traded or commits elsewhere we at least have a suitable player still we can sign.
Durant: He said all along its about winning. Either he stayed put, but I think OKC might have to deal westbrook anyway, and as I intimated, OKC with Oil revenue down is not "Boom" city anymore. Im not saying they are financially in trouble, but Durant rode a nice wave and its as time to move on. He'll catch some shyt for going to GSW, but its not like they just won a chip!!! They lost in the finals!
San Fran is a wonderful city. Durant will be comfortable coming out to that community.

You figure Rose misses a dozen games or so, some maybe just for "rest."
Jennings will get a nice long look in spot starts and big minutes as the first guard off the bench. He put himself in a great position to get paid next year, and who is to say its not with the Knicks?
