What? They can't trade him, just like we can't trade Rose, for a certain period if time.

Is Paxson their gm. This is some good work on his part if he can move Jose.
I thought you can't move a player acquired via trade in the same offseason? May be my misunderstanding
Not sure if this is because they are getting Jose or because Miami will match the Tyler Johnson deal.

Hahahahahahah Let Brooklyn have him lmao

You can move an individual player that was part of a package deal. You just can't combine them with any other player in doing so. If I recall correctly, we did the same thing when we traded Wayne Ellington- originally part of our incoming package from the Tyson Chandler deal- for Quincy Acy, then of the Sacramento Kings.
....what can I say, the CBA is stupid.

In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances:For two months after receiving the player in trade, if the trade aggregates the player's salary with the salaries of other players. However, the team is free to trade the player immediately, either by himself or without aggregating his salary with other salaries.
Basically means they can trade Calderon (or Lopez or Grant) straight up, just not part of a trade package involving multiple players.
It'll be interesting to see if they give up any assets to do move Calderon. If they don't (other than maybe cash), be prepped to have me say "I told you so!".

I heard Miami would match on Tyler Johnson. That seems almost certain now with Wade.
nets put a hurt on the Heat, they choose Tyler over wade? sort of.

Gotcha thanks for the explanation
First Bargnani, then Larkin and now, possibly Calderone. The Nets are becoming the burial grounds for ex-Knick players. Did I forget Ellington? Wow!
I read earlier that Calderon was traded to Lakers for player to be named with Bulls sending LAL 2 2nd rders so they had room to sign Wade
How is it that we thought there'd be no market for Calderon, yet he's on the cusp of being part of a 2nd deal in a few weeks?

They sent two second round picks with him. They had to give up something for someone to take him. The Lakers reportedly did not send anything back.

Got it - didn't realize that a single player trade was allowed.

I think it's situational at best an LA is truly fukked.

You forgot Shawne Williams.
