What is wrong with this kid?

i wonder if some grizzlies forum has a 40page thread devoted to him?
knicks1248 @ 7/12/2016 9:40 PM
He's not that good...Look, anytime the worst team in the league waives you, that's got to be a major red flag. There's clearly more to his story.

You trying to make this a 40 page thread?

WaltLongmire @ 7/13/2016 12:55 AM
Maybe his injury is taking more time to rehab than anticipated?

I never really liked him as a player, but he was clearly damaged goods when he played against the Knicks last year.

Maybe he came back too quickly...

...Then again, maybe he's just not that good.

On the streets from guys who played Summer ball/pickup with him.

Of the 40 posts, none shared the feelings some around here had for him...of interest was this one:

I could AVERAGE 20 PPG on the Sixer team, they have no set offense plays or designs. Are you kidding me? But ok, let's get him a pass and pat on the back. Cool.:

My thoughts exactly. Between him and Lance, this bench unit will be spectacularly awful.

So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now?

40 responses! Typical expansion team mentality!
In keeping with our home court, we are the Mecca of Useless Player Threads!

I still liked the Mo Taylor trade!

And I like the biblical references; Our reading today is from The Book of Tony, thread page 37, post 9, from the 4th to the 33rd response...

I get the feeling it's a disciplinary thing. Too bad, the kid had some talent. Seems like he's running out of chances quickly at this rate though.

I'm not very religious, in life...or forums.

Just thought it was "humorous" compared to our thoughts on him.

I follow him on snapchat... seems like he has alot of people counting on him. His girl kids and brothers. He's always posting himself either in the gym or with family. So I dunno what else it could be. I just hope there's nothing bad like drugs or association stuff going around. Like rather than suspend him or put his business out they just waived him.... I genuinely like the dude so I hope that's not the case

yeah but nixluva said he was going to start for us

lol good stuff there... not sure why people around here were so gungho for this guy. i still maintain, anytime you get cut from the worst team in the league, it kinda says something.

First of all Wroten was cut due to his poor performance coming off surgery and they replaced him with a healthy player. They actually considered him part of their future before the season given that he was starting the previous season before his injury!!! They weren't thinking about cutting Wroten before his ACL, so I have no idea what you're suggesting about him being cut says something other than they weren't willing to wait on him to fully heal.

No one here was saying Wroten was a lock to start. This is the BS that always happens when someone says something positive or hopeful about a young player we have. Some were enthusiastic to see him in SL, but people need to stop trashing others who merely talk and speculate on prospects. Dude was in our system working on his game for a brief time and until he was released things seemed to be going fine. Whatever his personal issues are, I hope he gets them fixed.

Here's the thing no matter who we talk about there has to be some perspective. Every player has their own expectation level based on their talent and skill. ie KP has greater expectations than Kuz. If we talk positively about Kuz we're not saying he's suddenly expected to be a franchise level talent. Wroten was a flawed young player so there was a given expectation for what he could do given where he was starting from. If some are talking hopefully and positively about a player, that doesn't mean we're saying he's destined to be an ALL STAR!!! Being positive doesn't mean we were suggesting that prospect is gonna put up 20/8. The guys who piss on any player we go after simply LOVE to exaggerate the negative and any comments others make to make it seem like we're suggesting that player is gonna play at some unrealistic level. It's annoying BS that needs to stop.

We should pick him up....He was hungry before.....I'm sure hes even hungrier now! Westchester needs some athletes.

Actually, his best bet is to sign on with a DLeague team or go and play overseas.
If reports are true about his work ethic then we got problems, but he just might not be healed yet.

Yup...plenty of ways to prove yourself and make it back to the NBA.

Might be a situation where he was frustrated that his rehab was going slowly- maybe he realizes that he won't be able to reach an athletic level needed to make an NBA return.

His game was based on his athleticism...the guy is not the kind of player who can play in the NBA without be at 100% physically, I guess.
