I think we are very advanced in terms of chemistry in this team. Most of the guys have played together at some point. That's a great underrated aspect of our offseason.

I think Plumlee is likely to go the way of the 3 waived players who were on Westchester last year but made more money because of the partially guaranteed money Phil gave them
Baker is more NBA ready than Plumlee, IMO, and more at ease in our system of play.
People keep pissin on Plumlee. I don't think he's as bad as some are thinking. He is a real Center who can defend, bang, pop, run and finish. That's actually a very nice mix of NBA skills that Hornacek looks for.
Not "pissin" on him...I just feel that Baker showed a better understanding of the nuances of the game we play, and he's simply a more skilled player.
I'm rooting for Plumlee...just have to go by what I saw in SL.

100%. I see Noah, Willy, KOQ as my centers, and guys I really don't want playing much anywhere BUT center. KP will get minutes there as well. I don't see the value in Plumlee, where as NDour can get minutes in several types of linups at the 3 or 4. He's got a good mid range jumper, likes contact, plays in the paint well... boy I see a lot of Jae Crowder in him (from fish's keyboard to god's sever).
I think Plumlee is out and NDour is in. I could see "big" linups where Kuz/NDour end up playing SG because of certain mixes.

I think N'Dour is closer to Taj Gibson than Crowder. He has more 4 in him than 3 but like Taj I think he can defend some 3s.
funny that was the first guy I thought of (Taj) but I think Taj is much bigger and stronger. More like a Mason type. NDour is pretty lean. More quickness, but either was I totally agree... he's a guy who can play both spots and can FIT in both spots in different lineups. Plumlee is a one trick pony and we got some of them horses already

Yeah Taj is thicker. I was hoping Ndour could add a little more weight like Taj did. Coming out their measurables were nearly the same except Taj was 14lbs heavier but Taj was 24 y/o and Ndour was 23 y/o. NDour is still skinny but hopefully he is around 210-215 lbs and on his way to adding weight like Taj did.

This is why Phil brought him back from what I remember from him in SL and the video I just saw:
1) long, agile 4 with huge wingspan and active hands on defense
2) comfortable at getting the ball in the high post in the triangle and has a really smooth midrange jumper perfect for triangle (possible 3 and D potential)
3) Athletic enough to be a decent finisher down low
4) High Motor on both ends of the court--hustle type role player
5) Has a good feel for the game and plays within himself
Seems like a perfect back of the rotation role player with some room to grow.
p.s. Don't put any weight on his stats at Real Madrid, he came late and never played. Just the fact that Real Madrid signed this kid--the best Euro club--speaks volumes of what they thought of him.

I don't think so. He was a late add to Real and was coming off of injury. Real is not a team that plays young guys to begin with even if they might be better than an older player.

By the way, I love how Phil keeps signing players who are not on anyone's radar, including the NY media. First, the Jennings deal came out of nowhere; no one saw it coming. Then the Lithuanian kid Mindy who no one ever heard of, and now Ndour, who we all liked last year but completely forget about.

Two good signings this week. Never thought I would say that about Sasha returning, but for a year, and to help KP and the new rooks adjust to all the changes, its a smart move.
There is real balance. Its why I am very puzzled as some folks are saying this is an all in and PHil's plan totally changed and its all win now. NDour, Kuz, Willy, not sure if both Baker/Randle make the team, Plumlee... If you cant see a clear and concerted effort by this FO to continue to build towards the future WHILE fielding a team with the upside for a deep playoff run I just don't know what you are looking at.
Its because the starting roster is top heavy with older, frequently injured players now. Some of us here were happy to have the best frontcourt since Ewing/Oakley. As I pointed out before, even Mike Lupica who supported the Rose trade said it was a desperation move. Im glad there are some younger players in the pipeline, at the same time, I want to be sure that KP isn't surrounded by older, broken down players on bad deals when its time to re-up.
I keep hearing that Porzingis would never leave. I believe if we've learned anything from the Durant move, is anything can happen, especially with Dolan in charge. I dont want mgmt to get complacent about what the team will look like when its time for KP to make his decision. Those are legitimate concerns IMO considering this franchise's history under Dolan.
Have also made it clear that since Phil's sudden sense of urgency, I do like the moves he has made to fill out the roster.
I guess my retort is simple... do you still believe the bold? Because if you look at every move that followed the Rose deal it looks like the start of a calculated and well executed offseason. Phil hedged the health of Noah and Rose with Kuz, NDour, Willy and Plumlee... all prospects locked into 2 year deals. Then to ensure there is veteran depth Jennings, Lance and Sasha represent fantastic value in this market.

Players not as good as Lopez are getting around 20 million a year in free agency. Giving up Lopez without getting back a first round pick or a better complimentary player, looked like desperation to me. Rose could have been gotten next summer, who were we bidding against that we had to pull the trigger now?
As far as seing how healthy Rose was before signing him, Phil could have seen that on the Bulls' dime. Was hoping for something more for a player who looked like an all star by the end of the season, on a great deal, and in his prime.
