I can't get it.I think we are very advanced in terms of chemistry in this team. Most of the guys have played together at some point. That's a great underrated aspect of our offseason.
Yeah NDour, Willy, and KP all played for Real Madrid at some point, right? NDour and KP in Summer League last year.
Kuz was also from the ACB...
who is the fifth player on the roster with Spanish league ACB experience? Sasha?
Ndour just won a championship with Willy with Real Madrid... I'm too lazy to Google and confirm

Still, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we did start the season with this roster. It's just a well-rounded roster with most of the needs addressed.
Yeah, I mainly agree. Third PG is the biggest need.
Just saying for people freaking out about the roster that this is not necessarily final and these "3 year guaranteed" and "2 year guaranteed" deals to undrafted rookies often usually have a lot of outs and don't represent a huge commitment if things don't work out.
I hope N'Dour sticks though. I think he has a better chance than Plumlee, but we shall see.
I think Plumlee is likely to go the way of the 3 waived players who were on Westchester last year but made more money because of the partially guaranteed money Phil gave themBaker is more NBA ready than Plumlee, IMO, and more at ease in our system of play.
People keep pissin on Plumlee. I don't think he's as bad as some are thinking. He is a real Center who can defend, bang, pop, run and finish. That's actually a very nice mix of NBA skills that Hornacek looks for.
Not "pissin" on him...I just feel that Baker showed a better understanding of the nuances of the game we play, and he's simply a more skilled player.I'm rooting for Plumlee...just have to go by what I saw in SL.
I'm just going by the fact that the Knicks gave him a bigger commitment than they did to Baker. I like Baker a lot.
Marshall Plumlee signed a 3 year / $2,498,982 contract with the New York Knicks, including $643,471 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $832,994. In 2016-17, Plumlee will earn a base salary of $543,471. I think Plumlee is out and NDour is in. I could see "big" linups where Kuz/NDour end up playing SG because of certain mixes.
Picture: Rose/Kuz/NDour/Melo/KP. I mean I could totally see something like that, point is NDour gives you many more options.
+1
I think N'Dour is closer to Taj Gibson than Crowder. He has more 4 in him than 3 but like Taj I think he can defend some 3s.

I can really see him getting some rotation minutes.
And I love the idea of a guy like N'Dour playing with Noah and learning little tricks from him.

Yeah Taj is thicker. I was hoping Ndour could add a little more weight like Taj did. Coming out their measurables were nearly the same except Taj was 14lbs heavier but Taj was 24 y/o and Ndour was 23 y/o. NDour is still skinny but hopefully he is around 210-215 lbs and on his way to adding weight like Taj did.
1) long, agile 4 with huge wingspan and active hands on defense
2) comfortable at getting the ball in the high post in the triangle and has a really smooth midrange jumper perfect for triangle (possible 3 and D potential)
3) Athletic enough to be a decent finisher down low
4) High Motor on both ends of the court--hustle type role player
5) Has a good feel for the game and plays within himself
Seems like a perfect back of the rotation role player with some room to grow.
p.s. Don't put any weight on his stats at Real Madrid, he came late and never played. Just the fact that Real Madrid signed this kid--the best Euro club--speaks volumes of what they thought of him.
NYKBocker wrote:He played for Monroe College in the Bronx his freshman and sophomore year. Another "I'm coming home" video?
I have this mental image of an annoyed and exasperated Skylar Grey sitting by a piano saying "Not again, jesus..."
nykshaknbake wrote:Haven't followed his career since last SL. Is it concerning he essentially contributed nothing in his Euro stint last year?
I don't think so. He was a late add to Real and was coming off of injury. Real is not a team that plays young guys to begin with even if they might be better than an older player.

Yeah you're right the Backstreet boyz were much better and to your other thread about everyone forgetting about N'Dour, we were just talking about him a few days ago.

Ndour, 24, last played for Real Madrid in Liga ACB, averaging 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.6 minutes per game. He impressed the Knicks last year at Summer League in Las Vegas, scoring 23 points in a game against then-rookie Jahlil Okafor and the 76ers.
Following Summer League, Ndour signed a multi-year deal with the Mavericks, but was waived in October.
The signing of Ndour brings the Knicks to 14 players. He joins Joakim Noah, Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O’Quinn and Marshall Plumlee in the frontcourt.
On Tuesday, the team re-signed veteran guard Sasha Vujacic to a one-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum.

Two good signings this week. Never thought I would say that about Sasha returning, but for a year, and to help KP and the new rooks adjust to all the changes, its a smart move.
Its because the starting roster is top heavy with older, frequently injured players now. Some of us here were happy to have the best frontcourt since Ewing/Oakley. As I pointed out before, even Mike Lupica who supported the Rose trade said it was a desperation move. Im glad there are some younger players in the pipeline, at the same time, I want to be sure that KP isn't surrounded by older, broken down players on bad deals when its time to re-up.
I keep hearing that Porzingis would never leave. I believe if we've learned anything from the Durant move, is anything can happen, especially with Dolan in charge. I dont want mgmt to get complacent about what the team will look like when its time for KP to make his decision. Those are legitimate concerns IMO considering this franchise's history under Dolan.
Have also made it clear that since Phil's sudden sense of urgency, I do like the moves he has made to fill out the roster.
Hey, I didn't like the Rose deal either. But I did give it a wait and see. In the past that WAS the move. Now, that is just one thing that can go right. If that move fails there is upside to that as well. Big picture this was a hell of a job
Also, re the bolded above, when did Mike Lupica become valuable opinion material? IMHO he's turned very much of clickbait fodder.

Players not as good as Lopez are getting around 20 million a year in free agency. Giving up Lopez without getting back a first round pick or a better complimentary player, looked like desperation to me. Rose could have been gotten next summer, who were we bidding against that we had to pull the trigger now?
As far as seing how healthy Rose was before signing him, Phil could have seen that on the Bulls' dime. Was hoping for something more for a player who looked like an all star by the end of the season, on a great deal, and in his prime.
