Knicks · Stephan A. is disgusted..... (page 2)

I love Max Kellerman btw... he's the man. He's the only one on espn that's still making real contributions to the sports conversation. He's on point on social issues too

I can't watch the video at work but please tell me Phil passing on Mark Jackson isn't one of the reasons Stephen A is disgusted. It seriously seems like every time he talks about Phil he has to mention Jackson.

Not this time. He does think Knicks could have signed Wade. If they did, Im sure he'd gone nuts on that.
He just goes off as if Knicks were a real good team when Phil signed on, and he stunk up the joint.
I know he is a knick fan, but he really comes off as a not so informed starphucer kind of a guy who just wants "big names" as if they can fall into our laps!

YUP!!! IMO SAS is the WORST kind of fan. His kind of thinking is part of the failures of this franchise over the years. He should just shut up and let Phil do his job. Never forget that SAS hated on Phil for picking KP!!! When you look at it, there's really very little that Phil could've done in Free Agency. Aldridge, Durant and Wade? Just looking at the top 30 FA's from last summer it's not a lot of chances for Phil to add a Marquee guy and it was even less this summer.

LeBron James (1): 1 year (plus second-year option), $23 million with Cavaliers
Kawhi Leonard (2): 5 years, $95 million with Spurs
Marc Gasol (3): 5 years, $113 million with Grizzlies

Kevin Love (5): 5 years, $113 million with Cavaliers
Draymond Green (6): 5 years, $82 million with Warriors
Jimmy Butler (7): 5 years, $95 million with Bulls
DeAndre Jordan (8): 4 years, $88 million with Clippers after backing out of deal with Mavericks.
Brook Lopez (9): 3 years, $60 million with Nets
Tim Duncan (10): 2 years, $10.5 million with Spurs
Dwyane Wade (11): 1 year. $20 million with Heat
Brandon Knight (12): 5 years, $70 million with Suns
Goran Dragic (13): 5 years, $86 million with Heat
Danny Green (14): 4 years, $45 million with Spurs
Roy Hibbert (15): Opted in, traded to Lakers
Greg Monroe (16): 3-years, $51 million with Bucks

Timofey Mozgov (18): Cavaliers picked up $5 million option
Paul Millsap (19): 3 years, $58 million with Hawks
Khris Middleton (20): 5 years, $70 million with Bucks
Robin Lopez (21): 4 years, $54 million with Knicks
DeMarre Carroll (22): 4 years, $60 million with Raptors
Thaddeus Young (23): 4 years, $50 million with Nets
Wes Matthews (24): 4 years, $70 million with Mavericks
Eric Gordon (25): Opts in to final year with Pelicans
Al Jefferson (26): Opts in to final year with Hornets
Tobias Harris (27): 4 years, $64 million with Magic
Reggie Jackson (28): 5 years, $80 million with Pistons
Monta Ellis (29): 4 years, $44 million with Pacers

Where exactly is SAS wrong in this video?

I've always liked the guy.

SAS has no idea how wrong he is with his take on things. His "Marquee" player or bust attitude missed the facts that in year one Phil COULDN'T have done anything about that. In year 2 very few "Marquee" players changed teams and the Knicks were coming off a 17 win season. This summer the only real "Marquee" player chose a Finals team to join. So really WTF is SAS talking about? He has no plan. He's just bytching and talking tough but there's no logic behind anything he says.

Meanwhile Phil is trying to improve the team and win games so that he can be in a better position to lure a top FA next summer. It's the only play he had.

I agree.....SAS sounds like the typical old school knick fan. If you are a passionate fan, then you are entitled to your own opinions. The difference is SAS works for the media and other fans with the same views don't.

one would expect a professional to be knowledgeable and have perspective. SAS just goes off.
The "Files" were written in December.

Because the knicks fell to 4th pick last year, the reaction was not about odds or statistics of the draft, it was "hoodwinked and bamboozled" after we took KP. Imagine if we took Cauley-Stein and watched KP perform on another team?
Then he'd rant for years.

In the instant gratification moment that his show must produce, the man just went freaking nuts over the smallest thing. Its an Act.
And as such, we just treat it as such with little respect for what he does.
