You're being too kind.

You ever coach the phucking Triangle (?)

Nalod @ 8/2/2016 12:46 PM
Triangle Vet, In the event injury happens, this kid is an NBA player.
Seems to be a good locker room guy, good for the yoots.
Better looking than Scola!
Euro cool hair and ladies man. KP needs tips with the ladies.

Couldn't agree more. His spot should go to Baker, then we get a 3rd understudy PG with talent/upside to finish it off.

Knicks are in a close game and Jennings turns and ankle. Coach needs a guard who can be where he needs him to be do what he needs him to do. Good chance a guy like Baker or Randle makes a mistake that costs a game. Sasha can play his role. There are a 100 reasons why Sasha should be here, not to mention the fact that he played well at times last year.

This is not about Sasha being a better choice, its about roster makeup. Knicks have a young roster and need some veteran play. I mean the roster is not filled with guys like Sasha. If you don't see the value Im not sure what to tell you. This reminds me a bit of the "Phil doesn't know how to be a GM after letting NDour go" type comments we saw last year. Guys were on full tilt over that jazz.

I think people treat these UDFAs and scrap heap guys like lottery tickets... sure, its not likely it hits, but the more you have the better your chances. Except that this is a pro team, with pro practices and pro expectations and you need grownups who know how to do things.

Conceptually its a good idea. But for the money, who is that guy? Isn't Baker that talent upside guy?
If Baker is better, he'll play. But like last year, you get into a tight situation, you got a vet on the bench and if he gets hot, he can win a game for you.

I actually like Baker--he's a pleasant surprise, I just want to see him worked in as a SG nice and easy. He's not a guy I'd feel comfortable turning over PG duty to on a steady basis should something happen to Rose and/or Jennings. That's poor planning if that's what they're picturing and I don't think that's even fair to this kid. If there are times where Baker finds the ball in his hands ready to make plays for others either at Westchester or the NBA level, so be it--he's shown he can make plays, but to me he's a SG. Not looking to overwhelm the kid with emergency PG duty. Rose and Jennings are risky on several levels--I think it would be smart to add one more understudy ball-handling guard behind them--someone who will accept a guaranteed minimum salary. I'd actually prefer someone younger with upside here--those are the guys who would accept such a role/salary. I would've loved Cat Barber, Spencer Dinwiddie or Bryce Cotton. Barber signed with the Sixers; Dinwiddie just signed with the Bulls (these guys prob. signed partially guaranteed deals and still could be options but I'd consider them both longshots now considering they both have one foot in the door somewhere else) and there's strong indication Cotton will sign with the Hawks after playing for them in SL. If they act now aggressively, they could get Cotton. Thing is, I don't think they're concerned about adding more depth behind Rose/Jennings and I have a little problem with that. I'd offer this kid Cotton low-grade guaranteed money--that's something ATL may not even offer him. It'd be a drop in the bucket for us financially and we'd actually add a real nice young player here (a better version of Patty Mills imo) while giving us the depth I think we need behind Rose/Jennings. Something like that. I'm actually a bit flummoxed that they'd take on risks like Rose and then Jennings (two guys who may not even be on the team a year from now) and not have adequate depth lined up behind them.

Someone needs to play KP in FIFA during the season.

In the past this franchise has not spent a minute developing young talent. That just isn't the case anymore. While some of the guys invested in have not stuck (Early, Thanasis) it hasn't been from lack of trying and others have don't well here (wish you well Langston).

Youth is important. Its worthless without balance. Just my 2c

He clearly had a big impact on KP last year helping him adjust to the league. We have a couple more new euro players who can use some guidance. Sasha seems to be a good leadership type. That is important to have. He is not here for his basketball skills.

I laugh, knowing that Sasha will surely chuck up a few threes before the season is thru

I'm hoping he's more prepared next season and actually has fixed his rushed and flat jumper! It was hard for me to believe he really thought those shots had a chance actually go in. If he just relaxed and slowed down a tad he would be so much more accurate. Put a little more arch on that thing too.

I agree, sasha does havea role on this team..IN A SUIT..he did make some shots when we were down by 20, but every one else played like crap, and when we really needed a 3 or a big shot in a clutch situation, he bricked everyone of them.

Maybe he just needed some consistent mins to gain some confidence, but overall, he didn't impress me one bit. On a positive note, i do think his presence on this team as a role model is very important.
