Knicks · Melo said winning a Gold medal is the same as winning an NBA Championship. WAIT WHAT??!!?!?! (page 1)

He’d prefer to listen to peers such as Team USA point guard Kyrie Irving, who asserted the other day that an NBA championship and a gold medal are “pretty much the same.” “I believe so,” Anthony said in support of Irving’s proclamation, insisting he finds tremendous satisfaction in his status as the only four-time Olympian in U.S. men’s basketball history … with a record third gold medal now just six wins away. “I believe so.”

Every logical Knick fan:

Just shut the phuck up Melo for once, and win some meaningful games for the Knicks one time.

You can put Jose Calderon on all 3 Gold medal teams Melo has been on, and he'd also be the most decorated Men's basketball athlete. Doesn't even come close to a NBA ring.

Just a stupid thing to believe and say.

Just let him enjoy the moment. Since when is celebrating your country's achievements a bad thing. It's a big stage, even bigger then the stage at MSG, the world is watching and listening. He is saying the right thing for the moment he is in, just let him enjoy the moment and some succes, it is not Melo's fault the Knicks have sucked

He really is a dumb ass -- just shut up and lead the Knicks to something you fool.

Well Melo wouldn't know if it's the same since he hasn't done both now would he??

His stupidity knows no bounds. Don't mind his dumb ass schtick usually, but hate the fact he's declining on all of our favorite team for the next 3 years due to his stupid no trade clause.

Unfortunately, we all have to endure 3 more years of this poor excuse of an athlete.

I enjoy watching him play. Its unfortunate for you. You should probably go troll another fanbase for a few years until he's gone.

Melo being Melo.
Nalod @ 8/10/2016 1:31 PM
Chuck, Connect the dots to draw your own conclusion. IM sure if you saw Melo brush his teeth, you'd find fault with that as well.

EnySpree @ 8/10/2016 3:19 PM
I get what he's saying. It's a great achievement. He's not saying that winning a gold medal is equivalent like he doesn't have to win a nba championship. It's just as proud of an moment to represent your country and come out on top against the rest of the world.

Take several chill pills.

DrAlphaeus @ 8/10/2016 5:51 PM
Also the big point being lost in Chucky's typical histrionics — or more accuarately his "shit-stronics" — is he was co-signing Irving. Does Chuckyboy really want Melo to crap all over the importance of the gold and undermine his teammate's PR-friendly hyperbole? Because getting silver or bronze is akin to total failure.

Melo is first ballot HoF based on his college, pro, and international career to date. While cHuckster is a 1st ballot UK gimmick poster.

yep. that explains alot. thats why he considers himself a "winner"

well im happy for him. he played great today

Allanfan20 @ 8/11/2016 6:15 AM
I have zero problem with Melo or any NBA player thinking this, no matter how high or low they are in the NBA rankings. I have no problem with them thinking that one is more important than the other as well. It's all about how you perceive the prize and the journey to get to it.
