Only in Melohate world can you offer up these brilliant responses, over and over again, for years:

1) Losing less than before "the Trade" is not as good as losing more before "the Trade".
2) Constantly talking about all the "assets" that were lost in "the Trade" without mentioning what Denver managed to become with all those "assets".
(Remember the world beaters Ujiri was going to turn that franchise into in just a few short years? Remember all that? WCF!!! Gallo, the legit All Star Stud!!! Moz, the project who was going to burn up the league!!! My Mayor, oh my Mayor!!!)
3) Constantly referring to LinLove. The loss of a two week wonder who became nothing more than a another shyte-covered rhoid that Melohaters with head firmly up their azzes can pine and moan for. Oh yeah, and ignore the fact he amounted to an overpaid journeyman who other franchises had to give up draft picks to dump. Who also never played in anything but the "jv season" for us. All the while whining about Melo's contracts and not seriously wondering if Lin's contract to back up Patrick Beverly and Toney Fuhucquing Douglas actually was, ridiculous.
4) Equating Melo with Starbury, at any level. Unblushingly.
5) Having warm, wet memories of Landry Fields and his parabola jumpshyte.
6) Getting to the second round or being at the top of the division are things not to speak of. Neither are scoring championships or franchise records. Tanking is, though.
7) Talking up Rashweed and Jkidd as true saviors of the franchise. Anything but Melo. And believe in your heart that this shows incredible BB IQ.
8) When all else fails, ignore rationality, and just say "Dolan".
9) Whining about all the All-Stars who don't, and never will have, the balls to come to NY to play, but would rather take their talents elsewhere. Usually with two other superfriends. And somehow this is Melo's fault. I guess a benefit of having your Melohating head up your azz, is you get incredible insights into the actual quality of other people's balls.
10) Posting pics of the Hibbert block (in the second round of the playoffs) and seriously thinking that's worse than any Barg's meme on the internet.

I applaud the dynamic duo's unswerving dedication to being the poster children for deranged Melohate. Somewhere, tkf is shedding tears of pride.

Continue to have a nice next 3 seasons fellas!

Nice work right here. Amazing how true all of this is. This is the knockout punch to any Melo argument.

I'm going to blame the lack of a cohesive strategy as the biggest mistake... all these awful decisions stem from chasing the backpages because the organization didn't really stand for anything, with the exceptions of Donnie Walsh (who wasn't great) and Phil (who so far hasn't been great, but at least we got KP instead of Jordan Hill)

All this moves are just symptoms of the disease of corporate scleroses.

Not attempting to trade up with Minnesota for Stephen curry

What did we have that we could have traded and that Minny wanted?
No attempt or no asset?

I'd say not really tanking when we were playing for nothing. There were any number of meaningless wins that year that cost us having a shot at Curry.

What was the Knicks biggest mistake over the last ten years?
Letting a clueless OWNER of NBA Basketball run the entire show!

Owner Dolan making 60% of the Knicks trades ..
Plus Dolan hiring top name celebrity head coaches and GMs for 2 to 4 years...
Then make a complete change in roster, coach, system, and GM .. example the triangle-offense

I completely forgot about this. I agree with Briggs. Yes there was an opportunity. Minnesota wanted #8 and Wilson Chandler to move up 2 spots. As much as Walsh wanted Curry or Rubio, he thought giving up Chandler was too high of a price just to move ahead of Golden State. That one hurts. At the time we had a ton of assets. We had Gallo too, although no one would have agreed to deal him a year after he was drafted just to move up, but we had Chandler, D Lee, draft picks etc. In the end, all we needed was Chandler to move up for Curry, and Walsh decided against it.
markvmc @ 8/22/2016 3:10 PM
Even if we'd gotten Curry, we probably would have thrown him in in the Barnyarni trade.
ESOMKnicks @ 8/22/2016 5:21 PM
I much prefer the boom or bust swings for the fences a la trades for Dice or Eddy to committments to definite mediocrities like Eisley, Shandon Anderson, Tim Thomas, Nazr Mohammed or, yes, Bargnani.

Yup. Shame that the OP decided not to include both glaring omissions. The trade and the re-up. Both haven't righted this franchise in the slightest what so ever. Actually worsened to franchise record worst, 17 win season.

The Firing of GM Ernie Grunfield, plus not letting Pat Riley become Coach and GM.
Both Pat Riley and Ernie Grunfield decision-making took the Knicks to the FINALS.
jrodmc @ 9/1/2016 4:22 PM
So funny. The little Melohate groupies have a circle jerk one week after the fact.

Keep hope alive fellas! Only 3 years to go!

Riley was doing a damn good job, until he allowed starks to shoot 2 for 18, in game 7 of the finals on the road..when he had Blackmon sitting right next to him

Keeping Jackson instead of Strickland
Letting McDaniel go to the Celtics
Keeping JVG as head coach

Starting Chris Dudley in a NBA Final should have gotten him banned from the league.

Nalod @ 9/2/2016 1:02 PM
Riley wanted an equity stake of a subsidiary owned by publically traded company.
Did dolan offer him a stock package? Or we just looking back and forgetting reality?
Was it about him being GM/Coach? or MONEY? Aronson was smart to give him what he wanted.

Look at the time line and understand that curry needed time to develop and when Melo became available, he was not quite the player we have lived to lament about.
Yes, Walsh should have given Minny what they wanted. Im convinced curry would have been traded to Denver at that point for melo.

Don't bother waiting fish; the best, and actually only, response they could come up with was, quite fittingly, sheehit emojis.
