This won't be a landslide win for Hillary. Trump may still win

It will be interesting to see how this debate affects the numbers. I wanted Hillary to hit Trump much harder. Like when he mentioned the 33K e-mails or jail, she could have said "I'm not going to be lectured on behavior from a man who confessed to sexual assault on tape and has had sexual harassment charges against him." But I guess she didn't want to go down that road.

Hillary was just volleying last night..She didn't need to take any chances..She has a tendency to cruise a little early but I think Trump is done..No way he comes back from last week..Hillary just needs to go on a policy and governing tour..Talk about the divide and bringing the splintered country back together..Talk about the challenges ahead..Talk about healing..Take the campaign above the gutter politics that now exists..Cruise to the finish line..

Most likely its a draw between the 2 on stage.
America on the other side of TV screen suffered another blow-up loss.
Idiocracy prophesies are shaping up into reality.

Looks like the natural human tendency to look for a horserace has kicked in because Trump didn't actually sexually assault Clinton on stage.

If he is doing this to every woman is this a sign of huge disrespect?

The latter is the former...

I mean, right?

Or is being a target of sexual assault a form of respect?

It used to be in stone age...
But not all people advanced from it culturally

The viewship numbers from last night were down from the first debate..Could be football but seems like people have made up their minds..Can't be good for Trump..Romney was +6 with white women, and Trump is -25..Throw in that a record amount of hispanics applied for their citizenship a year ago and millions won't be able to vote because of the log jam in the system can't handle all the request..It cost over $800 per application..Motivation???What about those who are actually citizens already and can vote...

The spectacle prior to the debate was absolute gutter..This guy may be a billionaire but he is pure slime..

Even his money is debatable.

NBC News/Wall Street Journal national poll conducted over the weekend: Clinton 52, Trump 38!!!
I think polls conducted on Fri, Sat, and Sun are going to show a huge lead for Clinton. But I think Trump recovered a bit from the last debate, and the numbers are going to bounce all over the place the next few days.

He was 5 points down (and falling) going IN to Friday afternoon.

Out of curiosity, why do you think Trump "recovered"?

I wouldn't say fully recovered but most of the shows are making it sound like he exceeded expectations, and I think he did. I think he spoke in a way that will appeal to 40 or 45% of the country and I think he made Hillary look really bad with the e-mail stuff.

Exactly. It's like a boxer who knows they're going to win the fight on points. Why take the chance of getting knocked out trying to floor the losing opponent? Just keep your distance, maybe you have to take a few body blows, and win the decision. Trump is throwing haymakers in the 12th round because he knows he lost 9 of the 11 previous rounds.
Nalod @ 10/10/2016 3:07 PM
Lose a battle, but win the war.
Viewership was not as high as the first debate, and lasting sound bites was him saying "you'll be in jail".
He said nothing new.
She lawyered up.

if you care, you'll read up on fact checks. when done, he looks bad. If not, your prism will guide you.

Briggs, you have a daughter, what about his comments? Did it affect your view?

When the expectation is you're going to suck and you ended up being mediocre, that ain't saying much as far as exceeding expectations.

But as I said a few hours ago, this reveals out confirmation bias for a horserace.

'Trump didn't implode, so therefore he will comeback.'

It's bizarre logic, but as Bonn illustrates, prevalent.

The guy has been losing big for a long time and only had a brief week of making it respectable. The Electoral college isn't in his favor. General election demographics aren't in any republicans favor and brutal to him specifically. Obama's approval ratings are as high as they've been in 6 years. The economy is fine.

All this was the landscape BEFORE 4pm Friday.

Today's news cycle has evolved into the GOP eating itself.

Trump's debate performance played into every cliche' responsible for the hole he finds himself him. People have emotionally reacted to the fact he played the role of the dominant male, in the most literal sense. Its the very thing that's his biggest problem.

Last night was a net negative.

Now that preseason has started, got his hands full lusting over other teams 14-15th men, probably.
