Wow. Thought all of those rain delays would derail things tonight. Six in a row. Would love for Texiera to get a chance to play in the playoffs again.
Yoot mouvement and surge. Its been a great season!!!
Mets making a nice move too.
Speak it into existence.... we need to do the same with the Knicks.
All the sports talk radio jackasses were saying the Yanks would be stupid not to be sellers at the deadline.... they spokeep that into existence and it happened.... they believed it would help the Yankees so much that it brought on this story book yankeesque turn around. All that hating back fired.now the sports experts can go eat a dick.
That play by Sanchez to end the game looked like it was made by a grizzled vet. The team looks really good.
I said this a few weeks ago, yankees were right to wait to rebuild. They got better value in return. Get a competitive market created a bidding war and got better return.
I said it a few weeks ago, having youth on the team in Sept/Oct is a difference maker in the post anphetamine era of baseball.
as soon as they gave a-fraud the heave-ho the yankees bad karma was lifted. i can finally watch my baseball team again!
This has been the story of sports. How quiet has this been--especially for NY? The Yankess--given up for dust have just been relentlessness in forging ahead playing winning baseball. Im a Yankee hater but Im rooting for them this year to make it.
We have the unicorn of unicorns... Gary is Scary Sanchise!
Best rookie catcher in the history of the sport! Kid is absolutely unreal.

He is pretty dman impressive, but the job giradi is doing is even more impressive. he seems to be pressing the right buttons at the right time.
If we could have some how kept beltran with this group, we may be talking title
We still need to keep winning to snag that second spot. No guarantees. Sure am loving the yoot movement. Knicks - take heed!

Starters with the exception of Tanaka have been pitching way over their heads. No way Girardi is responsible for that, it's just the wierdness that is baseball at times.
But no buts; Sanchez has accomplished what no one's ever done. EVER. That's going to outshine whatever button pushing and micro managing Girardi's done this season if this team gets to the playoffs.
Listening to the usually pro-Yankee Francessa on the FAN, he's consistently been projecting doom and gloom as far as the Yanks actually making the playoffs. It's just way too many wins needed in way too hard a schedule in way too tight of a race. Would be nice though. Crazy kids and a crap bullpen makes some noise.
Too bad about Judge. Hopefully he's able to make some adjustments next year.

Horrible loss tonight. Despite the last 2 games, Betances is still a top shelf closer. Shit happens -- what are ya gonna do? Joe's gonna take some heat for this loss (should've started the inning with Dellin; should've given him the night off completely, etc.), but I think he played it right. Tried not to use him but once there was a baserunner, the importance of winning the game overrode giving him the day off. Just didn't work out. Dude stood there by his locker after the game and answered every question, though. He'll rebound from this after a day or two off...Dellin's awesome, Clippard's very good and I love the Tommy Layne pickup too--pretty damn good situational lefty. The big drop off for me is Adam Warren. If he throws a clean 8th inning, I think we win this game. Layne should've pitched to Papi in that 8th inning, looking back on it. The Yanks love this dude Warren and look at him as a top flight 8th inning guy but he's no stopper. Up to me, I'd faze Warren out in these late game situations, lean on Clippard/Severino a little more, incorporate more Jonathan Holder/Ben Heller/James Pazos to go along with Shreve/Parker (Shreve's really turned it around the last couple of weeks or so) and call up Johnny Barbato. Bleier and Goody are useless and shouldn't even be on the roster. Warren to me though is a big-time weak link. So overrated by the Yankees. I'd even have Yates ahead of Warren. Anyway, just my 2 cents on how they should use the bullpen the rest of the way.
Really like the Billy Butler pickup btw. Real quality bat to all of a sudden become available this late in the year. This guy could always rake -- career .290 hitter. Good right-handed pop, was a doubles machine a few years back in KC. Good move by Cash. I wish Joe would've left him in tonight to face Joe Kelly with runners on...A couple of so-so years in Oakland but I think he can still hit. Only 30-years-old. I wonder if he plays well down the stretch, they decide to bring him back next year if the price is right. He definitely lengthens the lineup..
That was soo bad last night, a massive win turn into a heart breaking lost in the blink of n eye......Marianooooo come back..lol..back to back 9th inning losses..smdh
yankees playing with house money-- i am watching games again now that rodriguez was heave-hoed. i know i am not the only one. things are looking up for them in the next couple years. they still need starting pitching.
Facing quite a few left-handed starters coming up including David Price. Butler's gonna get some playing time. Hopefully he can contribute. Per Newsday -- he has a .299/.381/.491 slash line with 54 HRs against lefties for his career.
Only 2.5 games back for a WC spot, despite not playing great recently. Chances of getting in are low but I think there's still time. Gotta start playing better and get on a roll here. And if not--hey, we had a nice little run at the end of the year and developed some young players in meaningful games. I like where this team is moving forward -- lots of good young talent in the mix, maybe all we need to do is tweak it just a little bit for next year (not go crazy in FA for now--maybe just a smart low-cost signing or two for a bat and a pitcher at sensible money i.e. Billy Butler, Pedro Alvarez? -- maybe we don't even need another starting pitcher--there's a lot in place that's already here), and continue to shed salary while keeping an eye on guys like Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Jose Fernandez in a couple of years (we also have a ton of top tradable assets to use if these stars are put up for sale before they even hit FA). Not bad.

Thursday night killed their chances. Really tough loss. I don't think they get swept though. DP has not been that good since going to the sox.
Over. and out.
It was a nice run.
George is in his grave right now trying to starphucque for Hanley Ramirez.
