I would just try to enjoy this season. All these things will take care of themselves after this season.

Exactly. And at this point, what destinations really make sense for both parties? LAC have nothing to trade. GS, SAS, and Cleveland probably wouldn't have any way of getting him or a great interest either. No other teams in the "contender" category. No other big market teams looking for aging stars. Boston might be the closest thing to a realistic destination, and its not that realistic. So i just don't see any realistic scenario that can open in the next year. And thats if he were to ever even consider it again.

correct. and when you overpay for talent, including trading away assets when you don't have to, you end up with mediocrity or worse most of the time. and that's been the history of the melo-era knicks: mediocre or worse most of the time.
the laughable aspect of all this is that with melo it is always someone else's fault.

That's how change happens. Most elite talent sticks with their team. You either have to be setup to contend or you have to roll the dice on risk. But that risk can be mitigated and there's no logic to assuming that what has happened previously will happen again.

Most complaining are whining fans that are unrealistic about the game. They want that magic unicorn that can allow them to brag about how good their team is. Just takes more than one guy. The last year we surrounded him with decent mixture of young talent and vets he won 54 games. Just because people hype up mediocre players like Calderon, Afflalo, Grant, O'Quinn, Galloway,(should I go on), before the season, doesn't mean they are worth a shit.
