Would be interesting to experiment with Baker at PG and Rose/Jennings at SG.
This is an embarrassing loss.
This is worse than the Cavs loss to me. We should've won this game.
rose looking like the fool's gold, empty calorie player i figured he was. really no semblance of a coherent offense and way too much of a streetball vibe to this game. there isn't even an offense to torpedo.

We don't have a defense coordinator coach still, right? Is that normal?
Very embarrassing. We should not have been tired considering there were only 2 games in the past week. Missing shots is fine. That happens. Completely losing focus and intensity on defense, especially when the shots are not falling, is inexcusable.
We got cold down the stretch. Don't know if it was tired legs, or still not having enough continuity when the opposing team ramps up their D at the end of games in the half court. We were getting stops but couldn't score. Had chances to cut it to a 1 possession game 3 times.
If we play D like this against Harden and the Rockets tomorrow night, we're toast.

Way to jump off the bandwagon after game 3 of 82. lol
Hornacek didnt get the defensive coordinator that he wanted, maybe Phil can play a bigger role on D. Thats more important than the offense right now IMO.
The Pistons came into this game shooting 26% from 3pt for the season.
We let them shoot 62% from 3pt!

Game 3 and you've got it all figured out. Can't give the team more time to get it together I suppose we should just give up on the season. 💩 Post!!!
Pistons and Morris hit some tough shots in the first half..Defense overall still looked bad..Knicks had a chance tho...No rhythm in the offense yet..I thought the starters who were in rhythm rested too long and lost their rhythm but back to back game today and tomorrow..Lee needs to get looks too..Too much one on one..Hope they figure it out...Bench looks bad..

CLee came out looking great, then only played 9 first half minutes somehow. Didn't think Hornacek used him well tonight.

And other games too, he doesn't get looks in the offense..You have to think it a team that's trying to understand each other..Melo and Rose sat too long in the 1st/2nd qt. losing rhythm then KP sat too long in the 4th losing rhythm..

your starting point guard can't be taking 17 shots and dishing only two assists. it's impossible to gel as a unit with this style of player. i said there will be a close correlation between losing and when rose takes more than 13 shots and has a usage above 24%. tonight he took 17 shots and i am almost positive his usage was above 24%. not only that but his assist rate was low to the point that his assist:usage ratio will be closer to 2:1, which is simply unacceptable. we'll find out tomorrow on basketballreference.com
Knicks played this same nonexistent defense in the preseason as well..I think the coach made a decision that a face paced offense will sacrifice some defensive effort..He said as much post game..

since june, when rose was acquired, i have given you the numbers that he needs to hew to. those numbers are in my sig. i will change my tune when those numbers are proven wrong, but as of right now i see no reason to change them. yes he did a great job in the first half scoring the ball, but eventually he has to strike a healthy balance between scoring and sharing, or the team simply will not gel.
