Ah, my friend reminded me that Marcus Morris may be interested in showing Jeff Hornacek a thing or two tonight. Morris and Horny got into it in PHX
Yes...our defense has been putrid, but the Pistons will also not continue to shoot the ball so well. They are making some tough shots. If we tighten the screws on the D a little in the 2nd, we should have a chance to win it at the end.
The Knicks look like a much better team on offense this season and it will only get better as they know their sets and each other better.
But the defense is pathetic. It's really very bad. Not much energy or dedication, You won't win playoff games playing defense at this level. The Knicks need to shift their attention to both sides of the ball. Not just one.

They are not good but they pay defense. We don't
I do expect the Knicks D to improve cuz there's no reason for all of these wide open shooters. That is something that can and should be addressed. It's just not an acceptable level of effort nor execution defensively.

I hope so

KP looks very off tonight. Not sure what's up. Hornacek pulled him at the end of the second quarter and was talking pretty animatedly at him.
The Knicks defense is deflating everything good they are doing on offense. Not fun to watch... it's something simple that could be corrected by watching film. They just have to stop packing the paint for no reason. The shooters are just waiting for the ball.... every team is doing it. It's like a league wide scouting report on the Knicks.

This is where Id like to see Noah set the tone, try to get his teammates to wake up on D.

Agreed. We have so many weapons and options on D this year compared to last, but the defense needs to be addressed if we are going to be a serious team in the East.

Yes, it reminds me of the way Rambis had them playing D. I'm worried it's the way Phil and Rambis want the defense set up. I don't like it. People talk about the Triangle offense, but Phil also has defensive elements that he feels must be maintained and at times I think that is more dangerous and outmoded than the offense. He likes his bigs to pack the paint - I think that's why we see KP out of position all the time. So many fours can shoot from outside now. KP is left scrambling out to his man.

I have to disagree - one to two passes is getting the Pistons the exact looks they want. That's poor defense.
Hey a Rose assist to KP! First of the season

yeah, Jennings is better at finding KP.
Hope Melo is taking notes on how the ball comes back to him if he passes instead of wasting the clock by pounding it intro a double team.
Melo is playing really well within the context of the offense
This is what happens when you let KP ball.
